A Secret Change

Alfie was a quiet individual that liked to keep himself to himself, doesn't like change but knew one day it would happen... yet did he know that the change in his life would be for the better.

All through school Alfie would never speak out if something ever happened to him, was never late to school and would always arrive to classes on time... He had friends but would never really sit with them during breaks as he knew there was always something playing on his mind which would stop him having fun with his friends..

In the last year of his school life during one of his classes Alfie would not stop thinking about how change might effect him and his life.. If he ever thought of a way he could change something he would write it in the back of his school book and go back to it later. He knew that he didn't have long left at school and was to try and focus on the last few months he had before he knew that what ever he wanted to do in life would be his own choice, still knowing he would have help by his parents getting himself out there in the open world was still a very daunting to process for him.

July 22nd..

Final Day Of School

It was Alfies last day of school before he finished for good and as the summer holidays was approaching he knew one thing was coming.. during his last ever class he was asked by the teacher.. ''so Alfie what do you want to do with your life''?

Alfie replied back to the teacher saying that he wanted to make a difference but doesn't know how to start ''yet did he know that what the teacher did next would change his life forever''.. whilst slightly panicking Alfie finished his last class and successfully graduated school for good still trying to process what the teacher had said to him.

On his walk home he discovered that he had more in his bag than he thought, He pulled out a little black notebook opened up the first page to see if there was a name or something in there that would indicate why it was in his bag, thinking he would find and name on who it belonged to Alfie found a small note on the inner page saying..

A very big well done for doing well in school, if you see this everything in your life is about to change.. i saw that your bag was open so i slipped this into your bag when you looked away.. had noticed that you needed help so I'm giving you this little black notebook to help you change your life forever.. in this notebook you need to write down everything you do good during the holidays whether thats helping or giving jot it in here and i promise you things will change as it did for me now its your turn to make it possible.. yours sincerely ??

Alfie didn't know what to think and had no clue where this little note book had came from and who the person was that wrote on the inside.. he only spoke to a few people before leaving his school after saying goodbye and good luck to all his friends that he knew.. but straight away Alfie thought of one other person who had said something like that, it was his teacher in his last lesson. he said to himself now it all makes sense she was trying to help me out, she mentioned that she had a little black note book given to her as a young adult before she became a teacher ''her dream job'' and obviously passed it over to me.

The Summer Break..

It was the start of the summer holidays and was Alfies time to finally decide what he wanted to do.. He took the teachers advice and decided to go ahead. Waking up the next morning with a smile on his face knowing what he wanted to start doing for that summer, everyday he made sure he would make a goal to give or help out anyone in need and would write everything down in that little black note book.. but feeling very good about himself he still didn't know what else he could do until one day he had a knock at his door.. one of his parents answered it..

It was a neighbour from down their street and said to Alfies parents how much of a blessing he has been to that neighbourhood and the surrounding areas.. his parents had no clue that he was doing anything like this.. the neighbour asks to see if alfie was at home the parents reply yes i will get him for you... Alfie heads to the front door not really knowing anything that has been said.. the neighbour thanks alfie personally and hands him a note and a gift box.. he runs back to his room and opens the note thats states..

for everything that you have done for us we would like to thank you with this gift.. as a community we decided to all put in together for all the help that you did for our neighbourhood and now we want to give you something back.. inside you will find a check that will look to be a considerable amount but we want you to keep doing what you are doing and keep making changes.. as we know life isn't that easy when you don't know where to start so we hope that this will change your life for good.. thanks your neighbourhood..

Alfies parents head straight to Alfie room they ask what have you been doing for people?.. Alfie turns around and hands them the little black book he doesn't say anything else.. they look straight at him and says where did you get this?. He reply's.. I had it put in my bag when i left school i think its from my teacher from my last lesson.. his father says wait isn't that the teacher that lives a few blocks over.. Alfie's face lights up and everything that had been said to him by her she knew all along as she had the same experience.. The parents look through the little notebook and see all the good deeds that Alfie had done and both look at him again and say that they are so proud of him for what he has done.

But what is in that box? says his mum..

Alfie opens the box and as the note said, lying inside was a check for £20,000 both his parent where overwhelmed and shocked at the same time as they knew that this would help alfie sort his life out but alfie had other plans.

He knew that he would now have enough to even start his own business but he wanted to go further, he waits for the money to clear and within the next few days he shares his new fortune with his mum, his dad and also gives some back into the community... He now knows hes on the right path and knows now exactly what he has to do next...

The Little Secret Behind Black Book

5 weeks have past and Alfie knows there is only one thing left that he has to do. He goes to his dad and asks him about this teacher living not far from them his dad replies yes its the one from your English class that was your last lesson right? his dad hands him a piece of paper with the possible address and heads right out.. He arrives 40 minutes later to the address and knocks on the door.

The door opens and his old English teacher answers, she doesn't recognize him at first but Alfie pulls out the little black notebook and hands it to her straight away Alfie knew it was her.

He said..

I took in and listened to what you said and would like to thank you for what you did she replied i didn't do anything you did it all.. she looked though the black book smiled then handed it back.. Alfie reached for the book and put it in his back pocket quickly switching it he grabs a new little black notebook.. Alfie replies.. i want you to take this and carry on with what you do best and thank you, you have changed my life forever..

She takes the book not knowing that this is a brand new notebook for her to give to someone else like she did to him, he says goodbye and thank you again and continues his journey home..

The Decision

When Alfie arrive home that day he felt very accomplished knowing that he had helped out so many people and that he had given his time and effort in all the things that he did.. Alfie went on and decided to start up his dream career with the rest of the money that the community had given him. He never gave up with doing good things and always wrote down everything in his little black book and wasn't going to stop until it was full. He and his family were very happy with his career path and life was never confusing again for Alfie. He knew never to give up.
