A 30 Day Challenge to Improve Your Life

It won’t be easy but it will be worth it.

I am setting you a challenge — change your life for the better in the next thirty days. This challenge is not for the faint of heart because thirty days is NOT enough time to allow any coasting.

If you see this challenge through I promise you will have set yourself a firm foundation to build the life of your dreams. On top of that, you will have shown yourself you can stick to a plan of action and create your future. What better time than now to get started?

1. Declutter Your Life

I mean this both physically and concerning relationships.

The physical aspect is the easiest. Get rid of “stuff.” By that, I mean anything hindering you in your day-to-day life. Donate it, sell it, burn it — I don’t care but get rid of it. As Jordan Peterson would say, “Clean your room!”

Mentally, decluttering leads to better focus, higher self-esteem, and better relationships. Physically, it enables you to get more done faster, which vastly increases Productivity.

Relationship decluttering can be a lot harder. You need to be honest with yourself. There may be people in your life holding you back. Perhaps they are pulling you down with their toxicity, and you get nothing but pain and misery from being involved with them. You need to “declutter” your life from these negative influences.

We only have 24 hours in a day. This short time means we have to select who we associate with. If you are entertaining toxic people, you prevent people from coming into your life who will love and value you. You may even be missing out on a soul mate when the truth is even being alone is better than being surrounded by toxic people.

Learning to say no is a powerful weapon that will dramatically improve your relationships. Set boundaries and, as compassionately as possible, get those draining people out of your life.

2. Work Hard.

See what happens if you work 10 hours a day for the full 30 days. Do you think your life will move in a more positive direction?

Not only will your life improve in more ways than you realize, but you will also find the freedom that comes from breaking your self-imposed limitations. For example, working 10 hours a day for 30 days may seem challenging and uncomfortable to you. If you achieve it, you have just shown yourself that you are a person to be reckoned with because now you know you can achieve tough, uncomfortable things.

If it is impossible to do your daily job for all those hours, supplement it with other kinds of work — writing, for example, or another hobby that requires mental or physical effort.

There is much more to gain than just improvement at your work. Discipline, Productivity, overcoming fear — all yours for the taking.

3. Learn New Things.

There are a handful of topics that you can learn about that may change your life in 30 days. I recommend Investments and Money, time management, happiness, and sales and marketing.

Don’t cram all of these topics into the 30-day challenge. Pick one and study it as hard as you can. Here are some book recommendations:

The Millionaire Next Door by Thomas Stanley

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People: Powerful Lessons in Personal Change by Stephen R. Covey

The Art of Happiness by The Dalai Lama

Ultimate Sales Machine: Turbocharge Your Business with Relentless Focus on 12 Key Strategies by Chet Holmes

Reading just one of these books has the potential to make you a better person.

4. Dream Big.

Spend 10 minutes a day developing your vision for the future. You can’t make changes in 30 days without giving it your all. What is your ultimate dream?

These 10 minutes every day will give you something that will motivate you for years to come. You will have direction and purpose in your life.

Feel free to have multiple dreams. Perhaps your perfect future is being a writer, having a partner, buying a lovely house, or learning something new. Whatever it is, you create your future by first visualizing it in your mind.

You need a destination before you work out how to get there.

5. Learn to Let Go.

Practice affirming that you are ok with not having things or letting them go. This applies to both things and people.

Letting something or someone go does not mean you will lose them, but if you hold on to them too tightly, you will drive yourself insane, hold your progress back and lose that thing or person anyway.

So don’t preoccupy yourself with the insecurity that comes from wanting perfection or the need to be in control. You have enough to focus on that you CAN change without worrying about what you can’t.

6. Delete or Throw Away Your Time Wasters.

I can hear the gasps now, but remember this is only thirty days…

Get rid of your phone and replace it with one that can only take calls.

Uninstall all programs that are time-wasting traps and block all access to websites that only make you feel worse about yourself or the world in general. This is probably most news sites.

After thirty days, you might even find that you like the silence and that it is good for you not to be bombarded with a daily diet of Covid statistics and death.

7. Change Your Self-Talk.

Come up with some affirmations you would like to adopt for yourself. These can tie into the future you have been working on that I mentioned earlier.

I cannot stress enough that the way you see the world reflects your outer reality. You cannot afford to sabotage yourself with negative self-talk before the world even gets a chance to have a pop at you.

Believe you are the best. Go into each situation with confidence. If you fail, make sure you fail for external reasons and not because you brought your self-loathing with you from the start.

Everything good starts with an affirmation.

8. Become Obsessed with One Topic.

The actual topic doesn’t matter. What matters is that you consume so much about it that you almost feel overwhelmed.

Read every book and watch every video that you come across. Crucially, follow every tip you hear with practice.

Become a master at something by fully committing yourself to it. Hold nothing back. Like the rest of this challenge, embrace it with everything you have.

Conclusion.

I must add a disclaimer that 30 days is NOT enough time to entirely change your life in most cases, which is why all the above tips are on the extreme side.

Nonetheless, we are building habits, a tough mindset, and an iron will with this challenge.

Your life WILL be better if you follow my tips, but it is time to dedicate the rest of your life to improving similarly. Treat this as a kickstart to your future success.

You have all the tools you need — you always did.
