"Motivational quotes may instantaneously change our entire thought process and direct our energies towards a positive path."

I was very fond of reading quotes from my very tender age. I believed in learning from the wisdom of great men that ever lived on earth.

Initially, I started doing this as a hobby. But when my attention constantly drew towards these quotes, they started making a great impact on my mind. Realizing how profound these words were, made my life a happy, peaceful, and contented one.

There are plenty of great intellectuals whom I admire and follow deeply, but today, I am going to share quotes by a great Indian spiritual guru, " Swami Vivekananda", who was credited for his contribution to a revival of modern Hinduism and inspiring nationalist consciousness during the colonial rule.

Also, Swami Vivekananda was successful in bridging the eastern and the western culture by interpreting the Hindu scriptures, philosophy, and lifestyle to the western world.

Moreover, he has been credited for ending India's cultural isolation from the rest of the world.

So, let's get started.

Quote №1

"All power is within you; you can do anything and everything. Believe in that, do not believe that you are weak; do not believe that you are half-crazy lunatics, as most of us do nowadays. You can do anything and everything, without even the guidance of anyone. Stand up and express the divinity within you."

The biggest failure is the failure of the mind. We are not defeated unless the mind gives up.

We all have experienced this from time to time. When we have the willpower to do anything, we can create miracles. But we keep on doubting our abilities.

"Faith can move mountains."

So, if we have a firm belief in ourselves, we can feel a new dimension of energy inside us. If we experience ourselves to be extremely powerful then even the mountain-like situation looks like an ant.

How to apply it:

First of all, we must spend time with ourselves and talk to ourselves. We must start working on our weaknesses rather than just counting them.

Second of all, we mustn't don't bother about what others have to say about us. When we are true to ourselves, no one else matters.

"Whenever someone tries to put you down, let it pass like a storm, and stay calm and strong."

Third of all, we must try using the power of affirmations. We can make a list of 5 positive affirmations that makes us feel positive and energized.

Here are my favorite fives that I practice daily early in the morning for 10 minutes.

  • I am a very powerful being because I am the child of the ocean of power.
  • No one is as powerful as me.
  • My potential to succeed is infinite.
  • My ability to conquer challenges is limitless.
  • I have the power to change my life by changing my thoughts.

Important tip: Try to truly feel the emotions that come with these affirmations.

Quote №2

"Anything that makes weak - physically, intellectually and spiritually, reject it as poison."

We tend to hold onto things. Living in the past, that is filled with bitter experiences can be the real poison in our life.

Also, it can hinder our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual growth.

So, we must always remember one thing,

"The past has passed. If we still try to recall it, the same effect shall be seen in our present life too."

How to apply it:

If something has happened in the past that has been disturbing us, we must seek help immediately.

We must also learn to rest.

Learning the art of consoling our minds by giving valid reasons to forget the past or disturbing events can also prove to be helpful.

I usually give the following reasons to my mind when it tries to get anxious by recalling a past or bad deed of a person:

What has been done is never going to occur again.

What people have said to me was their way of thinking. It has nothing to do with me.

My mind is no place of garbage to dump negativity.

Maybe I had no power to stop what has happened in the past, but now I have the power to rule every thought.

Maybe it was the result of my bad Karma, that something bad happened. But, now, it's over.

Quote №3

"Dare to be free, dare to go as far as your thought leads, and dare to carry that out in your life. "

We must always believe in our thoughts.

"If we have the power to think, we have the power to do it as well."

But sometimes, we become weak mentally and give up on our original idea owing to external circumstances. (rejections, failures, and insults)

And eventually, we fail to get what we initially envisaged and hence remain unhappy for the entire life blaming either people or circumstances.

So, we must never forget that people will have a lot of advice for us even if they don't follow one. Moreover, external circumstances are never going to be favorable.

When we're born, we raced against a million sperms to reach life. So, we must believe in our ideas and live a carefree life.

How to apply it:

We must prioritize ourselves.

We must value ourselves.

We must believe that we are born to be different.

We must not follow anyone's advice blindly. Just because it worked for them doesn't mean it should work for us. It is our life so we must make our decisions wisely because no one can, and no one will share our sorrows and pain.

Bitter truth!

Just think!: If everyone were alike, then the world would have been like a bunch of cattle grazing in the field.

"We are all on different paths owing to different needs."

Hence, we must understand our potential and then take charge of our life.

Quote №4

"Be not afraid of anything. You will do Marvellous work. It is Fearlessness that brings Heaven even in a moment."

Fear is always a hindrance to the progress of anything. We can never do anything while being frightful. The fear of failure or the fear of what others might think always leads to doubting our capabilities.

Also, fear can have a deeply negative impact on our minds that we can not even fathom about. It can prevent our productive juices from flowing freely. It can even give us panic attacks and much worse can happen. It can ruin our mental peace and relationships eventually.

So, we must understand our fears. They are not real but merely negative thoughts we build up in our minds. It is like a shadow that follows us wherever we go but does not exist.

So we must try to understand it and face it before it consumes us.

How to apply it:

We must change our mindset first. We can try to sit in a chair or lay in a relaxed position and take deep breathes. For 10 minutes, we can continuously affirm to ourselves slowly and in an accepting manner like a lullaby: "I am overcoming this. (Never name the fear while affirming). I am overcoming it right now. I am becoming confident from now onwards."

We must learn to spare some time with our lone self. Then we can ponder upon our weaknesses that have given birth to fear. After that, we must try to note down points that trigger our fearful responses. The next thing we need to do is write down all the possible responses we can make to overcoming that fear.

We can try to do what we fear the most by taking anyone's help if we need it.

Quote №5

"Arise, awake, stop not till the goal is reached."

This was the quote that has lived with me for my entire life I suppose. My father introduced me to this quote and he used to say it very often.

Swami Vivekananda must have said this quote to awaken his countrymen from the sleep of ignorance and start working towards the goal of peace, happiness, and prosperity during the times of freedom fighting.

But I guess, this quote can be used in any context.

The hidden message behind this quote is:

"Get out of the hypnotized state of mind"

We all have our moments when we try to build castles in the air. Haven't we?

Sometimes, we get so engrossed in daydreaming that we hardly notice our efforts towards that goal. And as we lose track of our progress and miss the deadlines, we get frustrated and anxiety starts seeping in and we give up. This is when this quote finds relevance.

It also illustrates many different meanings.

Meaning №1: Rouse yourselves

Meaning №2: Become fearless

Meaning №3: Stay motivated

Meaning №4: The best time to start anything is the time when you start.

Meaning №5: Do not leave things unfinished.

Meaning №6: Always stay focused by keeping your goals in mind.

This mantra has also been inculcated by many Management Gurus and spiritual organizations to motivate people.

How to apply it:

We must list down all the "to do" things and prioritize them.

By doing one thing at a time, we won't get distracted.

We must plan our resources before starting to do any task.

We mustn't get distracted by anything while working. For that, we can have a 5-minute pause every hour to check our focus and track the work done.

We mustn't leave unfinished work for tomorrow. This way we can feel a sense of achievement. Small successes can motivate us to achieve bigger ones.

Quote №6

"Learn Everything Good from Others, but bring it in, and in your own way absorb it; do not become others."

"He, who does not learn, does not grow."

We must never give up the learning attitude because we are not perfect. We all have strengths and weaknesses. But we must always focus on the brighter side.

Our life is too short to learn everything, so we must use that time wisely in imbibing the good qualities of others. Having said that, we must never copy anyone blindly. Because no one cares about duplicates in this world.

"If someone is good at making friends, we must learn that art by changing our interpersonal skills rather than becoming just like that person."

How to apply it:

We must make it the mantra of our life to see only good in others. No matter what, never discuss someone else's mistakes or weaknesses with anyone. Instead, we must try to appreciate and speak good of others always.

Let's try to learn at least 1 good quality from others throughout the whole day. Sometimes even a chipmunk outside the window can teach us life lessons if we have the eyes to learn.

Never be jealous of anyone's strengths. If we do that, we can never acquire that strength in ourselves.

Never copy anyone no matter what.

Quote №7

"Do one thing at a Time, and while doing it put your whole Soul into it to the exclusion of all else."

"The master of all is a jack of none."

It means that trying too many things at the same time can never bring success. Dabbling many skills rather than gaining expertise by focussing on one is only going to make us look like a dumb.

Moreover, this quote also teaches us many life lessons like multi-tasking.

Throughout our life, we have been taught to multi-task. But the fact is, the mind can work efficiently only when it focussed on one thought.

Also, we can save a lot of time and energy while doing one thing. I can say this because when I do a lot of things at the same time (texting while eating, cooking while talking on the phone, eating while driving), then everything seems to be compromised.

"The detail and finesse in the task simply evaporate when doing multiple tasks."

"If you run after two hares, you will catch neither."

These sayings teach us one thing. i.e focus on one idea and accomplish it easily.

How to apply it:

We must do one thing at a time. For that, we must prioritize.

We must be aware of our multitasking habits.

Learn meditative techniques to increase concentration.

We must reduce or eliminate distractions like phones while working.

We must keep our work areas clean and organized to stay focused on one thing.

We must schedule a time for distractions.

We must never be afraid to say, "NO".

I hope these quotes change your lives too just as it changed mine.

"Life is not about what you achieve or how much you achieve, but it is about what you become and how you become."
