5 Easy Ways To Reset Your Resolutions

Let's be real, it's easy to get motivated when your adrenaline is pumping after a dry January...

...or after a serious Netflix and Chili's sesh (pun intended) not to mention the binge worthy YOU 2 - that we all got overly involved in/ basically kidnapped/ still not over the ending.

Regardless of how bad your new years resolutions are going - there's a way to turn it around. The first step is there is a major difference between imaginary goals and real sustainable goals that lead to real progress.

The truth is: Resolutions get old, responsibilities are real and staying consistent requires motive. Not a typo. You need a real motive.

Today, I'm dropping helpful tips to help you uncover your real motives, find new passions and try out some small long lasting habits.

1. You Need A New Story

From the time you wake up, until the time you fall asleep, you are with your mindset. Every day. Every moment. Good or bad. Rain or shine. Your mind, is your actual bestie.

I feel that so much today....but let me ask you a real question: Do you talk to yourself? You do. So, let's set up a new conversation.

Tip #1: Set up a new daily pep talk.

How? Start with your surroundings! Hang memo's on the mirror.

Write in your journal in the AM.

My point is, if you want to build anything into reality, you first have to infuse your mind with healthy thoughts.

Erase the stories that don't serve you - the doubters around you and replace them with positive thoughts and positive tribes only. Trust me. This is an absolute game changer. It will change your actual life. It will refocus you and your mind.

2. Eat One Good Meal A Day

Yup. I see your fitspo screenshots. No judgement. I have them on my phone too.

But if we're both being honest, we know those gym quotes only last so long before you're back on your bulliness. (that's short for bullsh...you get it)

Solution? 1 meal a day keeps the fake meal plans away. That's it. Put the phone down - step away from the imaginary photoshopped screen shots. You CAN handle, ONE meal, a day.

You can. Just pick one, make it healthy and enjoy your day. Over time you will naturally ADD in another meal and another snack until it becomes a real habit.

Start with one meal, do it every day and you will actually succeed in health and/or weight loss this year.

3. Face Mask and Chill

I mean, a face mask is always the answer but more importantly, this is the easiest form of skincare to add to your routine without killing the new budget you just made in Excel.

Answering emails? Face mask. Need some self-love? Face mask. Quick Ab crunch video? Face mask. Want to scare your kids? Face mask.

See where I'm going with this? It's a "multi-tasker's" dream come true, without the 47 step cleanser and it requires little to no effort to add to your current routine.

I know, it's easy to get lost in the face cream isle or caught up in an expensive spa habit. (been there- hides receipt) Anyways. When in doubt, throw on a face mask, go be beautiful and enjoy your day.

4. Pick A Hobby

Let me guess, you want more balance in 2020, you have been soul searching and you're truly craving more peace or maybe a new career or a new dog or a new baby, like - let me just stop you right there.

I know, I'm pretty good at this whole stop over-thinking thing. (Play me on Apple after: Chelsea Swift Is Your Spirit Animal) Anyways. Pick a hobby, any hobby, the only rule is? It has to bring you genuine happiness from your soul. Here's a few to eye glaze while we continue:

Most of the time when we don't know how to channel our energy, we think something "is missing" and we begin to blame the things around us...

Until suddenly it hits us..."don't shop, ADOPT!" and now adopting 3 pets is the answer.

The truth is, you're not going through a mid-life crisis and you probably don't need a new job, a new puppy or a new spouse.

Mostly likely? You just need a new hobby.

Yup. It can get dog yoga weird, the weirder the better actually because your hobby only needs to make sense to you.

Your new hobby can also be as normal as a new project around your house, something you like to do just for fun but hobbies are the center for health, as they create that necessary balance in your work/ life schedule.

Queue me anytime someone is good at anything....

(starts setting up website and business model behind their back) Anyways. How do you know what to pick? Easy! Your new hobby is something that you do for fun - for no reason, other than it brings you complete peace and joy when you practice it.

The key here is that you could do it for hours and time just seems to fly by! Next time you want to "do something" that you're trying to do LESS- try to replace it with a hobby instead.

5. Invest Wisely

Last tip, invest....in you.

What do you love? (vs) What do you spend your time on?

This will tell you where your focus is and where you will be in 5 years - which means now is the time to adjust accordingly.

For example, a lot of people say they can't save or they have "no money to travel" and then you look at their daily habits and you can see why that's true.

Not just financially but what they actually spent their time on instead of saving or fixing what they complain about.

It's just a matter of prioritizing and sometimes, we just have to get real about our focus and what we actually do every day.

For example: sleeping in instead of working out, partying instead of saving, going out to eat instead of making a meal at home, laying around on your phone all day instead of tackling that DIY project - these are just a few examples of what we actually do every day that genuinely have an impact on our future investments. (No major portfolio or stock market required)

This year? The investment is YOU.

That's the actual secret to fulfilling your life's desires. The next best truth is that, anything is possible - so every situation can be overcome and you can turn it around this year.

Tip #1: Start a vision board + write a list + text your gym buddy + make a plan + set up that big goal= but it's time to prioritize your daily activities with your BIG dream.

Yes, allow yourself to dream big! 2020 can totally be YOUR energetic and financial YEAR, if you invest wisely and by wisely, I mean: START WITH YOU AND START TODAY.

Today is CAN get done.

Sure, maybe today - as you clip out that dreamy ocean for your vision board - you can't exactly jet set to your dream travel location in Fiji but in 5 years? It is absolutely possible.

Real life. Let's just say you took $3.00 a day and put it away for 5 years- that's $5,475 for your trip, see you when you get back, don't forget to bring me a seashell.

Seriously, though. Life is not hard if you just start (keyword) TODAY - your life is today and life is truly what YOU make it and most of "it" is just capturing your day, so seize today. Use what you can, work with what you have and leave your excuses in 2019.

This is your year to: Seize the day. Every day. If you can do that, you will crush your goals in 2020.
