When the holidays get closer, we tend to experience feelings of joy and enthusiasm. However, in 2020 we are still feeling uncertainty and fear over not understanding what Christmas would be like in this COVID-19 time.

We want to know if anything will change in terms of the pandemic as December comes. We are intrigued to understand how to socialize with our loved ones on this holiday.

News and media updates on coronavirus-related issues held us aware of measures to keep us safe. We now realize the value of remaining healthy through physical exercise, proper diet, sleep, and relaxation. However, keeping us updated also gave us high stress and sorrow, particularly this holiday season. We are always concerned with what we need to do to protect our loved ones, ourselves, our country, and the whole world. Knowing that social distance will dominate Christmas festivities this year was surprising for us.

We Need a Little Christmas

Public health experts request that we avoid gatherings with people who don't live with us and consider online celebrations with relatives and friends who are not part of the household.

Suppose you plan to have friends from outside. In this scenario, you'll need to take every possible precaution to mitigate risks and keep the holidays as safe as possible for everyone—the specialists advise small parties and request we ask the guests to isolate for 14 days before the event. We must wear a face mask, remove it only to eat and keep 6 feet apart from people from different households.

Have a backyard celebration. Reduce the risk of spreading by bringing your dinner and festivities to open spaces.

Joy to the Great Outdoors

Now we know what we have to do for a safer holiday party, you can choose whether to gather with your home bubble or do it with people coming from outside.

Since the coronavirus epidemic appeared, we received protection and wellbeing notifications. However, we haven't learned how enjoying time in natural habitats such as green areas or beautiful beaches will improve our wellbeing and mental health.

Some of the benefits of connecting with nature are:

• Lower stress

• Boost physical fitness

• Make you more comfortable

• Aid experience gratitude

• Boost attitude

In these winter holidays, nature can help to maintain our overall wellbeing and happiness.

Changing this holiday's landscape might also be a smart thing. Maybe there's a nearby mountain town or local beach where you can arrange a winter getaway to enjoy an isolated Christmas.

We can enjoy a fabulous Christmas dinner with family —all household members—viewing the mountains through the window. A winter activity like sledding or snowshoeing will be fun on Christmas morning, and later we can share stories around a fireplace. This kind of retreat might be a great way to experience unforgettable moments connected to nature.

And for those who aren't fans of cold weather, there are many warm Christmas alternatives, destinations where you can do cool outdoor activities away from crowds and connect with nature. Places with a warmer climate where you can enjoy a morning walk with fantastic lake views and stunning sunsets.

I recommend checking the COVID-19 rules and regulations in the destination you select. Travel regulations change continuously nowadays.

If we can't travel, we can visit parks or natural areas, viewing trees, plants, and birds, this easy exercise of seeing and feeling nature could go a long way to relax, clearing our minds. Walking around nature can help to make us happy on the holidays.

Watching thru a window or seeing pictures and videos of trees, mountains and seas is also a powerful way to promote better mental health, particularly for people at high risk of severe COVID-19 who cannot go out.

Christmas Time is Here

We will be in a pandemic in Christmas 2020, and we must all take care of ourselves so that this virus will not continue spreading. In this winter season, besides washing our hands, wearing face masks, and keeping social distance, add to contact nature to reduce tension and anxiety COVID-19 has given our lives.
