In life, many men are troubled by epididymitis, which has brought untold harm to their health. It is reported that male epididymitis will change the environment of the epididymis, affecting the maturity of sperm in men, thus making fertilization probability decline; in more severe cases, it will lead to ductus epididymitis blockage, affecting the normal production of sperm, and resulting in male infertility.

Epididymitis is commonly seen in men. What kind of occupations of males are prone to epididymitis?

1. Men aged 18-35 years old. Men aged from 18 to 35 may suffer from bacteria invasion due to active intercourse, on the one hand, which will lead to retrograde infections that result in epididymitis. On the other hand, men of this age will bear massive studying and working pressures with irregular living habits, which will cause a decline in immunity. Men with declined immunity will complain of epididymitis.

2. Company backbones that lack sleep due to staying up late and working overtime. As backbones of one company, many are in leadership positions, and the responsibilities they take and the burden they bear correspond to their occupations. At this time, the body's immune ability will decline, resulting in the body's weakness, leading to epididymitis.

3. Blue-collar workers often engaged in heavy work. Excessive physical labor will lead to long-term oppression and stimulation of the epididymis, thus increasing the probability of epididymitis.

4. White-collar workers that are sedentary. White-collar workers generally work in the office and need to sit in front of the computer for a long time to deal with work. Sitting for a long time will lead to poor blood flow in the epididymis, and long-term sitting will lead to uniform heat dissipation in the male epididymis, which is not conducive to the absorption of inflammation, and it is easy to induce epididymitis.

5. People who need constant social interactions. Men need to socialize at work often, and drinking alcohol is inevitable in socializing. Drinking alcohol will easily lead to epididymitis, because alcohol can cause great irritation on the testicles, leading to excessive epididymis congestion and edema, thus causing epididymitis.

So, how can epididymitis be treated?

Clinically, epididymitis is divided into acute epididymitis and chronic epididymitis. For the treatments of acute epididymitis, the following treatment methods are usually adopted.

1. General treatments require patients to rest in bed and elevate the scrotum. Ice compress is recommended in the early stage, and hot compress is recommended in the late stage. Oral pain relievers are given to patients with obvious pain, and the spermatic cord can be closed to relieve pain.

2. The application of antibacterial drugs. Bacteria-sensitive drugs are chosen to carry out intravenous administration for one to two weeks. Then sensitive drugs can be taken orally for two to four weeks to prevent acute epididymitis from developing into chronic epididymitis.

3. Surgical treatment. When the antibiotic treatment is ineffective, patients suspected of blood insufficiency in the epididymis should be performed with an epididymis incision to decrease pressure. For patients diagnosed with the formation of abscesses, incisions and drainage should be performed. Patients with testicle infarction should be performed testectomy.

For the treatment of chronic epididymitis, the following are considered usually:

1. Taking broad-spectrum antibiotics orally.

2. Local hot compress and other physical therapies, such as sitz baths.

3. Local epididymal plasma therapy.

4. Chronic epididymitis combined with chronic prostatitis must be treated at the same time.

5. For patients with chronic epididymitis with repeated recurrence, testectomy can also be considered.

6. Herbal medicine, such as the Diuretic and Anti-inflammatory Pill. It can kill various bacteria and viruses in the male urinary and reproductive system, as well as mycoplasma, chlamydia, and other pathogens with its broad spectrum of antibacterial properties. Also, it clears heat and detoxifies, and it can also promote blood circulation and qi and relieve pain. It can also facilitate urination for treating strangurtia, helping treat male epididymitis without side effects.

At the same time, in daily life, people should pay attention to self-regulation and avoid sitting and drinking. They should develop good living habits to prevent the occurrence of epididymitis.
