Meditation is a method of psychological training that can be used to improve mental health and abilities and to improve physical health. Meditation can be as simple as a book or journal, or it can be practiced with the help of a qualified instructor.

What is meditation?

Most of the techniques called meditation consist of the following parts

  1. Lying or sitting with the body in an airless state.
  2. Take deep breaths to get enough oxygen. As you exhale, relax your
  3. Muscles, but do not strain to keep the lungs completely clear.
  4. Stop thinking about everyday problems and things.
  5. Focus your attention on a sound, a repeating word, a picture, an abstract concept, or a feeling. Your full attention must be focused on what you have chosen to focus on.
  6. If a foreign thought enters your mind, stop it and return to the object of your meditation.

The method of meditation depends on the degree of concentration and the way the distracting thoughts are handled. In some methods, the goal is to concentrate so that no extraneous thoughts arise at all.

In some methods, concentration is increased so that extraneous thoughts do not arise at all; in other methods, concentration is relaxed so that extraneous thoughts are more likely to arise. When you find a foreign thought, stop it and return to pure meditation in a relaxed state. Many of the thoughts that appear are actually related to things you have forgotten or reduced, and you may discover unexpected memory material. This rediscovery can have a psychotherapeutic effect.

Benefits of meditation

Meditation has the following benefits.

1. meditation gives you rest and recreation.

2. you will find relaxation.

3. find to help you focus on solving problems.

4. meditation often has a positive effect on blood pressure.

5. Meditation has a beneficial effect on the body's internal processes such as breathing, blood flow, and digestion.

6. regular meditation has a psychotherapeutic effect.

7. regular meditation helps the immune system.

8. meditation is usually pleasant.

The difference between hypnosis and meditation

Hypnosis has the same relaxing and psychotherapeutic effects as meditation. However, in meditation, you are in control, whereas in hypnosis you are controlled by another person or mechanical device. In the same way, hypnosis is not an exercise in concentration.

Simple methods of meditation

Here are some simple methods of meditation.

1. Sit in a large chair and assume a comfortable position.

2. relax all the muscles in your body as much as possible.

3. try not to think about anything, or at least try not to think about anything.

4. as you exhale, relax all your breathing muscles.

5. Repeat the following steps for approximately 10 to 20 minutes.

-- Inhale deeply enough to feel that you have enough oxygen.

-- Exhale with complete relaxation of the chest and diaphragm.

-- With each exhalation, mentally say a simple word, such as "1". With each exhalation, believe the word "one" or another simple word in yourself. Believe the word long enough to hear it in yourself, but do not use your mouth or voice.

6. When a foreign thought comes to your mind, relax, stop the thought, and concentrate on your breathing and the words you are repeating.

In this meditation you should feel your mind and body gradually relaxing, your breathing steadily improving, and the blood flow increasing throughout your body. You will also feel an increase in mental pleasure.

The effects of meditation on illness

When you train for something, you may over-emphasize meditation and get tired. You shouldn't meditate for so long that you get tired or don't feel mentally refreshed.

Meditation can be problematic for people suffering from mental illness, epilepsy, heart disease, and neurological disorders. On the other hand, meditation can help treat these and other conditions.

If you have any of these illnesses, you should find out how different types of meditation can affect your health problems before you start meditating, and be careful if you do meditate. It might be a good idea to learn meditation from an experienced teacher, psychologist, or health professional who has used meditation as a treatment module for real illnesses.

Meditation is the process of focusing attention on a sound, word, image, abstract thought, or feeling. In other ways, your concentration is more relaxed, so extraneous thoughts can come quickly to mind. When you discover a foreign thought, stop it and return to pure meditation in a relaxed state. Hypnosis is said to have the same relaxing and psychotherapeutic effects as meditation.
