Three Tips to Help you Lose Weight (Without Exercising)
Yes, it's possible and here’s how you can do it
Everyone wants to lose weight but find it hard to create time for their workout. What if I told you there’s a way to lose weight without exercising?
Sounds too good to be true but it is.
Depending on how much you can lose, changing your diet can help you shed some of those unwanted pounds.
Now you’ve probably heard this a million times. “It’s time to start eating healthier” and you say to yourself “This time I am going to do it”.
But you probably make the mistake of changing too much in you diet. This leads to backsliding into your old eating habits and whatever weight you gained comes right back.
These tricks don’t force you to change your daily routine too much which leads to a better success rate for you.
Don’t Go Right for Dessert
It’s hard for most, including me, to not jump at dessert right after having dinner. I even hard dessert before dinner sometimes and it’s lead to some weight gain on.
This is why you need to learn not just what to eat but when and your body will thank you for the little bit of rest time in between eating.
Before going to dessert, take a break to allow the brain to register how full you are.
You don’t realize you’re full immediately when it happens. It takes between 15 and 20 minutes for your brain to realize.
If you don’t wait before eating seconds, you can feel bloated or going into a food coma.
Push the plate away and have a conversation with whoever you’re eating with. Eating alone? Set a timer and decompress for a moment.
Whichever your method, learn to take a few minutes after eating to see if you are still hungry. You may even shred a few pounds because you’re saying no to extra food.
Replace your Snacks
There are healthier options we can be choosing from but it’s easy to grab a bag of chip and start eating. This leads to weight gain.
The average person doesn’t get enough exercise throughout the day. One way to keep your weight down is by including healthier snacks.
As someone who loves snacking, I know it’s hard to stop all together. You see there’s ice cream in the freezer and 10 minutes later that’s gone and you’re still not full.
Keep nuts around when you feel hungry. They’re good for your heart and a great source of protein.
Allergic to nuts? Berries and cheeses are also great snacks. Cheese provides calcium and protein while berries give you the antioxidants you need.
When it comes to losing weight, you have to see where you’re starting from and make adjustments. Just remember to have everything in moderation and you’ll be fine.
Watch how much Sugar you use
The amount of sugar we are taking in has become a problem and has gotten worse year after year.
It’s in everything and kids are move stationary, especially since the pandemic kept them inside for so long, and it’s leading to obesity.
As adults, we don't need sugar in coffee and tea. Most of us get too much sugar as it is.
From candy and Starbucks drinks to the good stuff like fruit and carbs (The body breaks down carbs into sugar), there are many ways to get sugar into your diet.
It may be difficult but start cutting out one or two foods in your diet that contain extra sugar.
After a few weeks of cutting down on your sugar intake, your body will adjust so you won’t miss it. Your cravings may not go away completely but they will get easier to deal with.
It seems hard with all the sweet treats around us but it’s possible.
Final Thoughts
While you lose weight faster by combining exercise with a proper diet, the more important piece in weight loss is diet.
If you are someone who cannot make it to the gym or your health has gotten to the point where you can’t exercise, focus on what you are putting in your body.
Snack and dessert taste great but it they are cakes and cookies; they will put on that unwanted weight you are looking to keep off.
They will also increase your sugar intake which is never good when trying to lose weight.
Just remember to listen to your body and eating things in moderation and you will see the pounds starts to come off. It may come off slowly but that’s better than nothing.
