I want to make this as fast, simple, and painless as possible.

Eating clean, healthy food supports you by helping keep your hormones (which are super important in the weight game) in check and many other factors as well.

It's just right for overall health. Period. We all know that no matter how hard we try not to look at the facts in the eyes.

But, also, you can lose weight eating whatever you want. That's right. Calories in and calories out is the MOST IMPORTANT aspect of losing fat.

Burn 2700 calories a day? You could eat 10 Cosmic Brownies a day. Now, I can't see how in any universe, this would be a good idea. But that means that if you eat one, you don't have a good excuse to blow off the rest off your day by eating 3000 calories in junk food.

Which, by the way, is probably easier than you think.

You can eat like crap, but keep your calories at a deficit and lose weight. Granted, you will probably feel and look like crap as well, and I don't think that's what most of us are going for when we want to lose weight.

The point is, you do NOT need to cut out all of your favorite foods.

Fill up on the low-calorie density stuff FIRST, and then enjoy your favorites. Its no big deal.

For some, it's easier to exercise more and eat more. For others, exercising sucks, and eating less isn't so hard. Find the balance that works for you. Losing weight can be incredibly simple, it's your own personal tendencies that make it more complicated. Learn yourself, apply science to fit your needs. Boom!

We are all genetically, almost identical.

Did you know that? I won't go into this too much, but honestly, I think its a super important factor.

The difference in how we lose fat is mostly in our microbiome.

Our microbiome is almost entirely in our GI Tract, and it affects how we digest and utilize food, moods, and our immune system.

That's why so many people thrive on specific diets, and others fail miserably (besides distinct psychological and medical factors, of course).

How Do You Take Care of Your Microbio-thing? Easy.

Here are a few things you can do to give yourself a leg up.

  1. Take probiotics and prebiotics
  2. Limit sugar
  3. Get lots of fiber
  4. Learn to LOVE fermented foods

I know that the last one definitely sounds scary, which can be depending on your tastes, but I promise if you keep trying new foods, you will find some that fit your flavor profile.

Don't Give Up!

I couldn't grasp these concepts at the start of my journey. If it wasn't keto or vegan, or training for 6 hours a day, I felt like it wouldn't work.

Thus, I would give up almost instantly. When in reality, it is just a numbers game, and I had to stick to it long enough to see results.

The problem with counting calories is that some people can hyperfocus on them, which sometimes leads to eating disorders like Binge Eating Disorder and several others.

Don't forget, before you start any diets or workouts, you should be doing so under a doctor's guidance.

The Take-Away

Eat a diet with your gut health in mind, but don't deny yourself your favorite foods and make sure you don't eat more calories than you burn. It really is that simple.

Remember, any compliance is better than none!
