8 Steps toward finding empowerment and peace

We live in a world full of hate. Our lives are drowning in the negativity across the globe. It is time to free yourself and find the power to be positive.

1. Stop conforming.

Live outside the box, don't feel the need to change who you are to please others. Do what makes you happy without worrying what anyone else thinks. There are plenty of people out there that will love you for who you really are, not a dulled down version. Be wild, be eccentric, be shy, be powerful, be you!

2. Let it go!

Stop harboring negative energy. When a negative factor enters your life instantly look for a positive within it and learn from it. That one negative thought that gets to you is like a seed, and that seed can grow into a dark forest of depression if you don't stop it. We cannot rid the world of negativity but we can combat it with our own positive thinking.

3. Cut it off.

Release yourself from toxic people. Sometimes the people we love are the direct reason for our pain. You have to learn how to let people go and free yourself and them from the toxic relationship. This doesn't mean you need to completely end all contact, just change the dynamic of the relationship. Do not let anyone control your peace and tranquility. Don't let anyone or anything weigh you down. Someone that truly loves you will not let you wonder how they feel, they will show you every chance they get. Love yourself enough to not need fake love. That leads us into our next step.

4. Love yourself unconditionally.

Love who you are, change yourself into the person that you long to be. Stop dreaming of who you wish you were and be that person, take that leap, this is your one chance, your one opportunity. You are alive right now, there is no guarantee for tomorrow, live. Do what you love and be the best you can be. Find your passion and let it consume you. When you wake up everyday and do what you love, you are going to feel it in your soul, you will get out of bed excited to be alive.

5. Turn off the rerun.

Yesterday is gone, it can not be changed, so why are you letting it affect you? Do not let the past have power over you. Who you were yesterday may not be who you are today, just as who you are today may not be who you will be tomorrow. You create your world, you choose the way you view your surroundings. Stop overthinking, the past brought you to today, stop regretting and start living.

6. Silence the noise.

Take away all the distractions and see what is left. When you stop thinking about what was and what could be you discover where you are. Stop living in your mind and just be in the present. The present moment is continuously changing, there is constantly something new to be discovered, something new to learn. Get out of your head and take in what is all around you. Learn more about yourself and those who surround you.

7. Be genuine.

Be real. Do not fake it. Don't put on an act to try to fool yourself, it won't work. Take your time and truly find your peace.

8. Leave your mark.

Dig deep and find that inner strength, that primal instinct, we all have it, the power within us to fight, to push forward. Fill yourself with that strength. Look into your soul and discover that eternal energy. You are powerful, you are alive, you are a force! Don't cower in the gloom of negativity, be the light in your own darkness. Shine!
