It seems like people stop trying to learn as soon as they leave school. Whether it’s high school or college, most of us never crack open a book again and that it one of the worse habits you can create.

We should always look to learn something every day. It doesn’t have to be like school. No one is telling you to sit in the library and cram for an exam for 4 hours.

Most of us couldn’t do that while they were in school, let alone now.

It’s as simply as learning a new fun fact every day. Sometimes that fun fact will be interesting, and you will want to google it because you have more questions you want answered.

We should learn from the Past before we make the same mistakes again

In school, you’re never told why you need to learn. “You need this to pass the test, to graduate, insert excuse here.”

As a history teacher in training, I learned how history repeats itself as the next generation experiences the same things as the previous.

If we learn from the mistakes of the previous generation, we will be less likely to make the same mistakes.

It’s been years since the internet has change the world and we still have not learned how to live with it.

Too many times have I seen someone on YouTube cry because someone is videoing them. We need to learn how to adapt to what the future brings and not expect everything around us to remain comfortable for us.

It’s not going to happen it’s not going to happen and the sooner we realize this the faster we will become immune to these situations.

Learn as much as you can, and you’ll be surprised how much it helps you

It doesn’t matter what you learn as long as you continue your learning.

Yes, this takes time to do and keep up with but it provides you with a sense of accomplishment as well as knowledge for the next day.

You don’t need to study up on topics that don’t interest you, like your back in school, or for long periods of time.

It’s as simply as taking a half hour and reading about your favorite topic. There’re documentaries for those who are not the biggest readers and audio books as well.

Your life experiences may dictate what you begin studying.

If you have a family member with a disability, or live with one yourself, you may start learning how to manage it.

When you combine your passion with learning, you become an unstoppable force. Who knows where you’ll end up just from learning about new things?

It could lead you to a new job opportunity or the next great experience in your life.

The Key to success is realizing what you are doing wrong

We should always strive to better ourselves but sometimes we tend to do nothing. This is the worse thing you can do.

How do you expect to get where you want to go if you don’t work towards it?

As humans we’re designed to be set in motion but at times we get lazy and lay on the couch all day.

The first thing you need to do to be successful is break habits like these. Once you realize what you’re doing you will be on the right path towards success.

Trying taking five minutes to write down what you accomplished that day. you’ll be amazed at what you are capable of once you see it in writing.

You can even do this in reverse. Write down what you want to accomplish today as soon as you wake up. Then every time you complete a task, cross it off the list.

There’s something uplifting about putting a line through a chore you just completed.

At the end of the day, that joy multiplies as you look at your list and see all the cross out. I know I think “Wow, I did all this today. I wonder what I can do tomorrow?”

Final Thoughts

We may not watch tv as much anymore but streaming services have a control on us now. Maybe we stop binging the latest season of our favorite show for a half hour to learn about something new.

What’s going on in the world? Why are these things happening? What can I do about it?

The more we question things, the more we learn and if we continue to learn, even just a fun fact a day, our knowledge adds up.

It’s a powerful tool knowledge. Even if you think what you know is stupid, there is a use for it somewhere. You just have to find where.
