Natural Alternatives to Shampoo
For me, washing my face before bed has always and will always be one of my most tedious beauty to-dos; however washing my hair is a very close second.
Jus L'amorePublished 7 years ago in LongevityHelicopter Parent
Today, I want to talk about the label “Helicopter Parent.” It is a label that I cannot stand, but I will wear with pride. It is used a lot, when school staffers discuss ASD parents, who are in constant contact, requesting modifications, updates, meetings and accommodations for their children.
Jenna LoganPublished 7 years ago in LongevityHolistic Medicine Explained
Holistic medicine treats the body as a whole instead of parts. Conventional medicine is used to cure disease, while holistic medicine will balance the body. The practice of holistic medicine has been used in many different cultures and in many different ways to bring a balance within the body and mind. Current holistic principles are to obtain optimal health by helping the patient mentally, physically, and spiritually; treat with love and unconditional acceptance, and establish a relationship so the patient realizes they are not a statistic to you.

In this next part of my series about the struggles of children with High Functioning Autism, I would like to address bullying in school. I would like to thank my fellow Aspie mom, Karen West, for some of her bullying insight, that helped make this article possible.
Jenna LoganPublished 7 years ago in LongevityMy Right to Become Fabulous at Fifty
Are we ever in control of our own destiny? I am in my fifties and at one time I thought that I had my life all planned out. No husband, no children, I was going to do as much traveling as possible and I was going to work as hard as I could so that I could retire by the time I was thirty. A wise woman once told me that, "PLANS CHANGE" and boy, did they ever. Thinking back, when did it all really change for me? I would have to say that every ten-year milestone had some impact on my life choices. It is how I decided to handle those choices that make me the person that I turned out to be.
Linda BlankenshipPublished 7 years ago in LongevityVeganism After Anorexia
When I first expressed my desire to go vegan, it is unsurprising that the response I received was overwhelmingly negative. I was fifteen and still in the grips of a severe eating disorder that had been a part of my life for the past three years. Whilst I was convinced that my desire to go vegan was entirely unrelated: I'd done the research and was horrified by the ethical and environmental repercussions of animal agriculture; in hindsight, at the time, all of my thoughts and wants were dominated by anorexia.

So, I will be doing a series of articles, about the struggles of those of us with High Functioning Autism. I really want to encourage you to share, to grow the awareness, and promote acceptance. As my first blog article stated, I am as Aspie. (See the link at the end) My son, who is 15 years old, is also HFA. He is my inspiration for what I am writing today, though I see a lot of it in myself, as well.

One year ago today, I embarked on a journey that has totally changed my life. After suffering in pain for 21 years after a car accident, and finding no relief through conventional medicine, I sought alternative methods. I asked the Divine for help. I was using a cane and a wheelchair seemed to be in my near future. I knew I had a trip to Italy coming up in 11-12 months. Something had to shift.
Cindy MoorePublished 7 years ago in LongevityEating Healthy Challenge!
So I woke up this morning with an urgency. Today, I was going to start a ‘Healthy Eating Challenge!’ Well, the thought was there and my creative imagination extended just in a short timeframe. I am going to take on the challenge of eating healthy and now the pressure is on! No, no, I’m just kidding here. Healthy Eating Challenge! Sounds good huh? Ok, I am not going to say ‘Diet.’ Why? Because ‘Diet,’ sounds like a harsh word. It sounds like, you have to, immediately embed a restrictive value to your mind, and, before you know it you’ve already changed your mind. Personally, this is what I think of when I hear the word(ahem) ‘diet.’
