With increasingly busy lives we are also being a victim of tiredness and many people feel drained in these moments. It’s true that we are living in a time where we are bombarded with daily distractions. And those who are working from home are suffering from this a lot.

Laziness is another problem, but it’s not that much difficult as the feeling of drained energy, tiredness, or fatigue. In the time of pandemic when I lost my day job, I started working full-time freelance. Like all others who work from home, I was also struck by the disease of not feeling energetic to work more. Or whenever I started working suddenly it feels like I’m taking a heavy soul-sucking load on my back.

But now at the time of writing this article, I’m working with freelance clients, at the same time I’m publishing 1 article every single day on Medium, I’m also running my Blog regularly, and I’m still able to manage my other side hustles and my personal life. And yet, I feel like a 6-year-old kid who has the energy to play all day.

I believe that everyone has a different point of view of their surroundings. Everyone’s situations are different. For some, it’s easier to find an escape from distraction and others maybe suffer weeks until they escape. Be cautious and aware of your own inner strength to handle your situations.

Take Your Sleep Well

So the thing is, most new entrepreneurs who are ambitious to change the status quo and are fully energized to do big things, think in order to work more you have to sleep 4 hours a day to save time to do more things done.

But they don’t understand that by decreasing your sleep time you may be exposing yourself to tiredness and fatigue. At the starting point, you may feel normal but when time passes your mind starts to take shortcuts at work and it may affect the quality of your work. And also when your mind is tired it will start to take small snaps of sleep even when you physically awaken. This can make a huge problem. Eventually, you will feel tired all day.

Instead what we have to do is, in order to do bigger and important things we have to have the energy that is required for doing that task. I’m not the kind of guy who sets a fixed time for sleep. Some days when it’s necessary I sleep 7–8 hours, sometimes I sleep 6–7 hours, and sometimes I sleep 4–5 hours.

The trick is in your schedule. If you have bigger projects, tasks to complete on time, you can sleep as little as you can. But you have to sleep longer in between. Like if you are sleeping 5 hours a day for the last 3 days, Now you have to take a deep sleep in the middle, and today you should sleep at least 8 hours and then again by tomorrow you can set your sleep time according to the amount of work you wanna get done the next day. It’s as simple as that!

Don’t make your sleep a barrier in your way to success. Make it an energy booster to lift you up.

Take a Look At Your Diet

Do you know why cars and other vehicles use fuel in order to work well? Probably you know. But do you know why they use fuel instead of water? because water cannot give them the energy that is required to get those horsepowers. Simple as that!

The same is true for us. If we need to get hard things done, we have to eat a nutritious diet instead of junk foods. We have to fill our bodies with energy so that energy can shine through us, then we can get harder things done without feeling tired.

There is a unique trait in athletes. When they are about to compete in an event or championship, they stop eating junk foods and they only take foods that can recover their energy levels so they can compete well in the competition.

I have that experience because I was a kick-boxing player. The thing that still helps me a lot is, when we were participating in competitions we join training campaigns so that we can prepare for the event. And during the campaign, our instructors recommend that we should stop eating anything and start taking milk, fruits, and other foods which contain high levels of energy.

That thing was so much impactful that still whenever my schedule is bombarded with tasks and projects. I literally stop taking any type of food and I plan for my diet and then I’m good to go with my schedule.

The mistake that most people do when their schedule is overloaded, they start to work hard and they don’t even focus on the things that give them the energy to do their works done. And when they feel tired during their work time they start to take coffee and other foods that give them caffeine so they can get a small push.

Instead, what you have to do is to focus on getting and storing more energy within you and only then you can do bigger and bigger tasks easily without feeling energyless.

Stay Hydrated

An adult human body can contain 70% water. The human brain contains 73%, Lungs contain about 83%, Muscles and kidneys contain up to 79% of water. So it’s very clear that the human body is a lot dependent on water than any other source.

Our cells need water in order to work and reproduce more cells. Water is so much important for us that the lack of water can destroy our mental capacity and can decrease our energy levels. Experts recommend that an adult man should have to drink 3.7 liters of water and an adult woman should take 2.7 liters of water every day.

But I would say if your schedule is overloaded and you have to work more then you should drink a lot of water. In numbers up to 5 liters per day.

People argue that if we drink more water, then we have to go to the bathroom very often. That’s right, you have to go to the bathroom very often. It also has benefits too. If you leave your desk and go to the bathroom very often it means you are taking naturally small breaks from your work.

And that’s what The Pomodoro method (The most common productivity method) suggests us to do. And also going to the bathroom means you are releasing toxic acids and other harmful materials from your body. That’s a win-win situation.

Bottom Line

Working from home, dreaming to do big things, setting your sight high to achieve something big these all things are fun and enjoyable. There is an adventure doing these things. But sadly, we have destroyed that feeling of adventure and enjoyment by taking the pressure to do these things.

In fact, most people who quit when things get harder are those who didn’t even realize their own strengths to fight with these down situations. This opportunity comes just one time in your life, and even you live your life just once. So don’t be scared of doing big things. Just take it easy, take it right, add the right ingredients, and there you have it.

It’s as simple as that!
