Our society has people working around the clock. Because of this creating time for what we want to do and what we have to do becomes difficult. Staying healthy or getting in better shape is one of those activities that has become harder to do. Some even have jobs that have them sitting down for close to 6 hours a day, causing people to become obese.

Staying motionless for this amount of time it's bad for your health but the good news is there're ways that you can include some activity and healthy eating habits in this busy world of ours. Here are a few things you can try.

6:00 A.M. at the Gym

This is one of the busiest times at any gym. Working out early in the morning comes with many healthy results. First it's recommended that people workout in a fasted state to help with weight loss.

Going to the gym right when you wake up is the best time for this. After you get into a routine of waking up early to workout, you will find that you will sleep better at night.

It can also start healthy eating habits for your day and there's a reminder for you to keep hydrated. Waking up might be the hardest part of creating this habit but after you get past this you should feel more energized and focused throughout the day.

Home Workouts

The biggest excuse people use for not exercising is not having the time to go to the gym. The best solution for this problem is to bring the gym to you. You don't need equipment to get a good workout. In other words you don't need to go to a gym.

Working out at home creates more flexibility and can be more efficient when you create time for it. You also save money on a gym membership, there's less stress in getting somewhere a certain time, and you have the privacy of your own home to try new exercises and wear whatever you want.

One way to get a good workout in without equipment is by doing calisthenics. These are body weight movements such as push-ups, sit ups, or leg lifts. If you feel you need more resistance, you can buy resistance bands. Bands allow you to do more exercises while making it a little more difficult to complete each motion.

Some people still miss using equipment from a gym, and they buy dumbbells and the bench for their home. You can do the same exercises with dumbbells that you can with resistance bands.

These are mainly strength exercises. For cardio you can do these motion for time and try to beat your best time, but nothing beats a jump rope. Especially if you're not big on doing cardio for long periods of time. Not everyone is a runner and you don't need to run to burn fat. High intensity Interval Training or HIIT training is a great way to get your cardio in and shed a few pounds.

Walk(Take the Stairs not the Elevator)

Sometimes our days are so busy that you're up at 5:00 AM and you don't get home until 9:00 PM. At this point no one wants to work out.

On days like these you can make smart decisions like taking the stairs to the next floor instead of the elevator. This is for people who have an office job or do a lot of sitting throughout the day. Supervisors and managers walk around checking on their employees. If this is you, add another time to walk around just for your health.

Walking is great for supporting your joints, increasing your bone health, your circulation, and sleep. It's also great for people with health conditions such as high blood pressure diabetes and high cholesterol.

Remember, walking is also a form of cardio, so you will also burn calories while you're doing this. Those looking to lose weight can lose 150 calories in just one 30 minute walk. It takes 3500 calories to burn one pound of fat. That means if you were to take 10,000 steps every day for one week you would lose between half a pound to one pound. If weight lost was my goal, walking would be the way I would look to achieve it.

Diets are Important

This is said to be the most important part of weight loss. It doesn't matter how much you workout during the week or how hard you workout in one session if you have a poor diet.

On average, women should take in 2000 calories a day and men should take in 2500 calories a day. To lose weight, you should take in a little less than your average.

When you are on the go, it can be tempting to see fast food. One way to make sure you eat healthy throughout the day is to keep healthy snacks on you. Nuts, nut butter, fruit, trail mix, and cheeses are all great snacks to have on hand when you're trying to get to your next meal.

Your diet can also help protect against diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. This may make you decide put down the double cheeseburger and grab a salad instead. For others, their diets have helped them reduce body fat, improve their mood, memory, bones, and teeth.

While a good diet can improve your health, a poor diet can cause damage. Some changes in body composition are not good for you and you should talk to your doctor before making this kind of change. Bad diets will cause internal problems such as low bone density and hormonal changes. Making changes in your diet can cause you to feel better throughout the day but only if you do it correctly.

Final Thoughts

While I am someone that loves to go to the gym, there're days when I get busy and can't make it. I don't beat myself down about it because I know that there're alternatives. I have home workouts that I do when I can't make the gym and I keep an eye on my diet from time to time.

You may not be the best at dieting. This is the hardest part for people to conquer when trying to get healthy. Fast food is all around us and so affordable that sometimes it doesn't make sense to go home and make something healthy. Keep those snacks on you and your urges for certain foods will begin to go away.

For most people walking is all they need, while others like the intensity of working out. Whichever is for you and whatever your goals are, keep working hard and remember that it's possible to stay healthy while on the go.
