I Ditched The Gym For This Fitness App

Gyms can be a great place to get a workout in, a place some find relaxing or therapeutic and for others, a gym is a place where our calories go to die but we don’t want to be there. Also if you like me and a busy parent the gym isn't always the most convenient with littles in tow and who wants to hire a sitter just to get some gym time?

However, you feel about the gym. It is easy to see that the COVID 19 Pandemic has affected our ability to stay completely within our usual routines while being safe. As gyms open up, we are seeing they may have to close back down.

So far, my favorite programs as a plus-size person toning and slimming areas of my body are the low impact Jumpstart U program and Meditation with Kat Fowler. Though I am side-eyeing beginning some cardio as well.

There are other programs for cardio, strength training, barre, dance, and more! Even a selection of live classes daily.

NEOU lets you set a weekly goal so you can not only see your progress but stay on track and even has a community of other people with a leaderboard to follow. Though I don’t participate in the community I find it a fun and cool feature for those who choose to. The weekly goals help you stay on routine and hit your goals. I also love the small section of recipes that they offer and change often so you never have to eat the same thing every day to stay healthy.

NEOU even offers challenges such as the 10x10x10 arm challenge and of course the selection doesn’t stop there there are over 7 different challenges and if you’re wondering yes NEOU is inclusive for all members, they even have a PRIDE challenge in the challenge section.

NEOU takes the stress out of workouts. No loading up to go to the gym, no waiting for equipment, no dealing with daycare if you have littles. It's all done in the comfort of your home or maybe even a public park since you can take it anywhere with you. I am also super impressed to see the recent new launch of the NEOU store which is full of clothing and accessory items for both men and women. Even boxing gloves are great for the Boxing movement class or kickboxing and core but there are about 18+ classes that involve boxing which is a great form of exercise for cardio!

Another fun feature I find helpful as a parent is NEO Kids! Now my kids can work out with me which is a great way to help keep them energized and healthy!

Overall from the ability to set goals, easy-to-use classes, and challenges with a supportive community I have found this app to be the best to let you ditch the gym and still get fit.
