You’ve been up late celebrating Valentine’s Day, and now you’re feeling a little fuzzy headed and sluggish. So what’s a hungover college student to do?

We’ve listed some clever and somewhat crazy ways that you can make the hangover seem more manageable – and no, there’s no way in heck you can accidentally pick the ingredients out of the dirty beer cooler at the college bar for this one.

Give your dinner a second chance

By Dan Gold on Unsplash

You may have eaten well at the restaurant, but maybe you don’t have a refrigerator at your dorm room, or maybe you threw out the last bag of chicken salad sandwiches at 1 a.m. Or you just don’t feel like getting back in bed for an extra hour.

Leave a second bag of leftovers in the refrigerator at your dorm. Take it out a few hours after you get back. It won’t taste as good, but it will give your gut a chance to start producing its own digestive enzymes and blood for flushing out the toxins.

Eat some bacon

By Antonio Barroro on Unsplash

There is a huge amount of evidence to suggest that consuming bacon is the best cure for a hangover, or at least of the nine best cures to help your stomach recover quickly. A small portion of bacon also fits nicely into your diet, keeping you full longer.

Spread a thick layer of bacon over your belly for an extra boost of energy. The bacon tastes good, so you won’t mind eating a whole slice of bacon by yourself.

Get a massage

Lying in bed watching Netflix isn’t exactly a cure for a hangover. You have a lot of time to lay there, but it won’t really do much for your aches and pains. Your muscles are aching from all that activity during the day, so giving them some help will help them rest better and heal up quicker.

If you can’t get a masseuse to come to your room, check out the amenities offered in a college dorm. Some colleges have massage therapists on staff, or if you’re feeling a little old school, ask your friends to give you a rub-down or just pat your back for a little while.

Drink some wine

It may be hard to eat a little bit of rice pudding after your delicious meal of bacon and cheese. But you can put some eggs and milk in your bedpan and drink a glass of wine.

Most importantly, you’ll be drinking wine that has a little bit of alcohol in it, so it’s less likely to cause your stomach to explode from pain or discomfort. Also, you can take a nice cold shower after drinking the wine to loosen up the cramps in your muscles a little bit.

No, alcohol doesn’t cure a hangover. But it will give you a bit of relief, and that will help to give your body the rest it needs so it can get back on track.

Eat ice cream

Dessert isn’t a cure for hangovers, but you will probably feel a little less miserable if you eat a few pieces of ice cream.

They’re not necessarily a cure for everything – but at least they will give you some sweet to eat for a little while.

Make some rice

A hangover is the worst for a person who is trying to stick with a diet or lose weight, so you may want to try eating rice in your stomach to help make it feel better.

You can add a little bit of soup to it. A few rice balls should be enough.

Take a bath

Taking a nice, long shower is a great way to refresh your body and help you feel better. Make sure to take a cold shower afterward so you don’t get dehydrated and you’ll feel better soon.

Have some coffee

By Nathan Dumlao on Unsplash

Coffee has a lot of caffeine in it. It will help your body get back on track so that you feel better and can get to bed and go to sleep.

So take a cup of coffee or some tea before you go to bed and you’ll be better by the time you wake up in the morning.

Wear a hair tie to put your hair in a bun

Some people have thick hair. In fact, I think my hair gets thicker when I’m pregnant, and then after I give birth.

But I think wearing a hair tie will help you put your hair in a bun so it’s less tangled and you’ll feel better.

Add some garlic to your eggs

Adding a bit of garlic to your scrambled eggs or eggs for breakfast will give you an extra bit of flavor to the eggs and make you feel a little bit better.

No, garlic doesn’t cure a hangover. But it will give you a boost of flavor, and that will help to get you through the rest of the day and into the evening.

Do a good deed

Giving a nice old person who is home alone or sitting in the cold, a cup of hot tea and putting a fresh coat of coffee on their front porch can do wonders for the elderly person.

They may feel a little guilty for not feeling well, so giving them a warm cup of tea will probably make them feel a lot better.

And it’s a good deed. So it’s totally worth it.

Stick some bread in the fridge

By Jude Infantini on Unsplash

Get some bread, or some dried fruit, or some nuts.

Just a little snack will make you feel better.

Have a little bit of butter on a piece of bread or some salt and pepper on it.

Make yourself a nice cheese and cracker snack. You’ll feel better, but you’ll get to eat some good snacks as well.

Have a few carrots or cucumbers on hand

By Armando Arauz on Unsplash

If you can eat a little bit of carrot or cucumber to eat with the eggs, then that will give your body some much needed vitamins and minerals.

Make sure you have some of those on hand, so that when you feel bad, you can take the vitamins you need.

Make some tuna salad

Tuna salad is good. Especially if you have some apples and oranges to add more flavor to the salad.

So just make a simple tuna salad for lunch.

Then just eat a little bit of tuna salad throughout the day.

Toss your veggies in a dry pan with a little bit of oil.

And then add a little bit of mustard and some salt.

Put the veggies in a dry pan to cook, but only do a little bit of cooking because it will give your vegetables a nice flavor.

Eat a snack

Eating a snack like a piece of fruit is a great way to keep your energy up for the afternoon.

But if you’re really feeling down, then it may be better to eat a little bit of dark chocolate or some nuts.

No, chocolate won’t cure you from a hangover, but if you’re in that place, then a little bit of chocolate or nuts can help to lift your spirits.

And if you’re having a cold or a sore throat, then you can add a spoon of honey or some applesauce to your snack.

Take some tylenol

If you’re feeling really sick, then it may be a good idea to take some tylenol. It’s just a small dose, so you don’t get a ton of the pain relief.

But it can make you feel a little better.

Drink some milk

By Jagoda Kondratiuk on Unsplash

Milk is one of the things that has the most protein in it. That’s a good thing.

But also it is packed with vitamins.

So adding a small amount of milk to your cereal or in your coffee will give you plenty of vitamins.

If you’re having a cold or a sore throat, then that will probably make you feel a little bit better as well.

Eating lots of milk can also make you feel a little full. So you won’t eat much at lunch or dinner.

Drink a warm glass of milk with crackers in it.

Drink warm water

By Giorgio Trovato on Unsplash

It’s probably not something you’ll ever think about doing.

But sometimes, you just need to drink warm water.

Put some milk in the glass, but not the whole bottle.

Then just sip it while you’re trying to eat your cereal or get something else to drink.

And just drink a glass of warm water after breakfast, or in the morning.

It will make you feel better.

If you can just sit down, relax, and eat.

Just eat a little bit, and eat some crackers or something like that.

Have some tea

By Manki Kim on Unsplash

If you’re feeling a bit down, then have a little cup of tea.

Tea has many health benefits. And it’s a great way to feel better when you’re feeling a little bit down.

Conclusion:

So you see, there are a few easy things you can do to help your body feel better when you are feeling a little bit down.

In the end, it will just take a little bit of work, and a little bit of time.

So don’t be too hard on yourself if you’re feeling down a bit.

Just remember, if you do feel a little bit of sadness, or a little bit of tiredness, then that’s okay.

But you should try to take a step back and take care of yourself.

It will make you feel a little bit better.
