1. It will improve your mood

Walking with your partner, a colleague, or even a close friend you feel connected with can make you feel better and happier. According to studies, 10 minutes of walking can improve your overall health. Moreover, it was found that many people walking during the COVID-19 pandemic greatly enhanced their moods. If you take a walk-through with a greenery view, the effect may be intensified much more.

2. It will help you burn calories and maintain a healthy weight

Walking regularly can effectively lessen excess weight and, as a response, enhance your body's insulin response. Constant walking activity boosts metabolism by burning more calories and minimizing muscle loss, which is known for being crucial as we develop.

3. It will boost your brainpower

Physical activity, such as walking, has also been shown to have the power to boost cognitive abilities. Increased blood flow to the brain often occurs because of doing daily exercise. Walking can help you think more creatively by clearing your mind and letting you focus better. It is a great help if you want to give some time for your thoughts and if you want to realign your focus.

4. It will improve your body’s blood circulation

Walking works to lessen heart problems by increasing blood flow and strengthening the heart. In just 24 weeks, postmenopausal women who walk one to two miles daily can decrease their blood pressure by nearly 11 points. It was claimed in a study that a woman who walks half an hour a day can lessen the possibility of having a stroke by 20%.

5. It will strengthen your muscles

Walking is the most convenient activity to strengthen your leg, abdomen, and arm muscles. You can give them an extra pump while walking. It improves your strength and flexibility by transferring weight and pressure from your joints to your muscles.

I remember visiting "Runyon Canyon" which was a touristy spot in Los Angeles, California. There was a guy there walking leisurely while on his cellphone. I ended up following him because his stride was amazing. No matter my pace (running or walking) I could not catch up to him, and I had a dog with me!

When we finally made contact, I introduced myself and asked him about his technique. He said he was a dancer and that he lived around the corner. Coming to the canyon only once a day allowed him to hike up the huge hill with ease. His muscles had actually developed to the point where it felt like he was walking down a flat street!

6. It will enhance your breathing patterns

Walking causes your breathing rate to increase because oxygen travels faster through your system, assisting to remove waste products and allow you to heal more effectively. This helps all around to clear blockages and create new pathways in your energy field. Wouldn't it be nice to have more breathing room?

7. It will make you feel more energized

When you are exhausted, going for a walk rather than having a cup of coffee could provide a more beneficial extra boost for you. Walking improves the flow of oxygen throughout our bodies. Just by simply walking, it can decrease cortisol, increase epinephrine, and norepinephrine amounts - these are the hormones that make you feel extra active.

Bring a friend or family member to do a stroll with you. If you're looking for suggestions that you may opt to try, here are some tips you might consider:

• If you commute to work, get off one stop away from your home and walk the rest of the way.

• When running errands, think about walking rather than driving. You can do your chores while also enjoying a moderate workout.

• If there is a park near you, allow yourself to have some me-time for walking even for a few minutes.

Please take note that to avoid injury or mishaps, do some warm-ups before walking. Before beginning any fitness routine, it's always good to stretch.
