If you enjoy coffee but like myself, are sensitive to the caffeine or if you are looking for a drink that can help you lose weight other than green tea you could try green coffee.

Green coffee is similar to green tea since it is the unfermented beans that are used to make the coffee. This makes it much lower in caffeine, while at the same time higher in antioxidants.

Like green tea, green coffee is said to help people lose weight. Many articles on the internet also claim that it delays the appearance of wrinkles, improves hair and mood as well as energy levels. It can also lower blood sugar levels and blood pressure. It is useful for insulin resistance and getting rid of belly fat.

I was introduced to green coffee when I was at a friend’s house in Ramadan. I was invited to break fast with her.

She introduced me to the green coffee saying that this is what they break their fast with in Saudi Arabia. Green coffee with some ginger and cardamom and some dates.

I immediately liked it. It is not as strong as the black coffee, and I can be sensitive to that at times. It has actually made my face puff up.

Since I used to be an adamant green tea drinker I cannot say that there is a great different, yet of course, the taste of coffee and tea have a distinguishable taste, which is the same for the green varieties.

I feel however, that the coffee provides more energy and is perhaps better as a morning drink.

So for people who love coffee but want to cut down on caffeine this type of coffee can be another alternative.

According to Dr Berg, green coffee can also be used on the face as a mask. He says that coffee powder makes a good facial mask and gives the skin a healthy glow. The powder can also be used to exfoliate the skin.

Green coffee powder is better than the normal powder. So you can mix the powder with water or olive oil if you have dry skin, put it on your face and leave it for about 15 minutes then wash it off. This can be used as a treatment for wrinkles, to clean the skin and give it a healthy glow. It is rich in antioxidants. Therefore, drinking the coffee while using some of the powder on your face is probably the best option for skin care.

You can buy green coffee in powdered form or buy the beans from most coffee shops or online. Amazon most likely has a selection of coffee bean sellers.

1. To use the powdered form put 1 teaspoon in a cup and cover it with boiling water, leave it for a while and then drink it.

2. Put a teaspoon of the powder in water and boil it for a few minutes, then leave it for a few minutes to make a stronger cup of coffee.

3. Soak the beans in some water overnight then boil the beans in some water, leave for about five minutes and then drink it.

Precautions: people trying to avoid caffeine should still cut down on drinking green coffee as it does contain caffeine. There are also concerns that too much drinking green coffee could deplete the bones of calcium. However, this is not confirmed but is only a word of caution. Drinking too much of anything beneficial may cause problems when taken in excess.

Therefore, if you are a coffee drinker who wants to cut down on caffeine or have an alternative to green tea here is an option for you.
