Great Father's Day Gifts for Golfers
Some Father's Day Gift Suggestions For Golfers
The good thing about golf, in relation to Father's Day, is that you should not have too much difficulty in finding golfing merchandise of some description to present as a gift. Separating the wheat from the chaff, in relation to what golfing merchandise will make the best gift, could present a challenge, however.
Regardless of playing ability, golf coaching is never inappropriate for any player. Nothing is better than having a suitably qualified golf professional looking at your swing or any other aspect of the golfer's game. So, there is no doubt that your dad would most welcome a number of booked lessons of one-on-one tuition. For the most part, golf lessons can be bought as part of a package or as golf lesson vouchers. Pay a visit to a local golf club (his if possible), and you can purchase an appropriate number of these vouchers for variable prices; in the UK, an average 1-hour golf lesson can usually be about 30-40 pounds. Present them within a Father's Day card, and your dad will be able to have them at any appropriate time for him.
Let us face it, books are books, and when it comes to gifts, they are usually a popular choice. Golf has its fair share of books, ranging from game guides to biographies and even novels. The Golf Instruction Manual, while not having the most exciting title in the world, provides a comprehensive step-by-step guide to the game of golf. Raising the Bar, by Golf Writer Tim Rosaforte, takes a look at the Tiger Woods championship years and covers some of his Major victories. My Usual Game is an amusing golf novel by David Owen, which records his romp through golf's mysteries and marvels. These are just some suggestions, and you might want to shop around yourself to find a book.
Framed golf art or photographs are more original and can make for a fitting and sentimental gift. Framed golf photos or art, though a little harder to acquire than books, are quite treasured. You can find the best courses, like Pebble Beach, either painted or photographed in frame. These can be found at some golf shops, or you can search the web for 'golf art' or 'golf photographs'.
DVDs (Digital Versatile Disks) on the game of golf are more widely available and can make for a fitting sit-down gift to watch on Father's Day. You can do worse than acquire the golf film Tin Cup, starring Kevin Costner as a hotshot golfer. It is a good film, and strikes the perfect pitch! Aside from movies, The Story of Golf gives a three-volume insight into golf's history from past to present. It is very informative and a good golf historiography.
Just a note, while top-notch new golf clubs can be great gifts if suitable, do bear in mind that you will not be able to custom fit them to test suitably. Most golfers prefer to try the clubs they utilize before they buy. If you are planning a surprise, purchasing the ideal golf clubs for somebody else's game can be tricky to do by yourself. The most expensive might not be the most suitable, and as such, great clubs that are not the right size will not be so good. However, other golf accessories like golf hats, gloves, clothes (shirts, trousers, etc), or a club bag can make for good gifts.
As you can see, golf gifts can come in a variety of shapes and sizes. For your dad's golf coaching, books, DVDs, art, and accessories like clothing or a club bag will all make for great Father's Day golf gifts.
