This article is on herbal remedies for arthritis pain and any joint pain. The recipes will either be using cayenne pepper or turmeric.

The first remedy is using cayenne powder. Cayenne pepper has an active ingredient called capsaicin which can help soothe arthritis symptoms. By using this ingredient on the joints it can help ease pain and reduce swelling.

Ingredients

3 tablespoons cayenne pepper, powder

1 cup olive oil

1/2 cup white beeswax beads

Instructions

In a double boiler, mix the cayenne pepper and the olive oil for about 5 minutes.

After 5 minutes, pour in the beeswax beads and stir until it is melted.

Then place it in the refrigerator to chill for 10 minutes.

Take it out of the refrigerator to stir then place it back in to chill for another 10 to 20 minutes.

Take it out of the refrigerator, stir the mixture, and pour in mason jars with lids.

Keep the mixture in the refrigerator.

The capsaicin cream will stay fresh for up to 2 weeks if stored in the refrigerator. Apply the cream to the area of pain in a circular motion. You can apply it up to 4 times a day for a week. It may burn for a few seconds.

Capsaicin Cream Recipe

Ingredients:

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

5 Tablespoons olive oil

Instructions:

Mix the cayenne pepper and olive oil in a bowl.

Pour the mixture into a jar with a lid.

Add the cream to the joint pain area.

It might burn for a few seconds.

I have used these remedies for my arthritis pain and they worked. I have also made these creams for some of my friends.

Disclaimer:

What worked for me might not work for everyone. If you are allergic to cayenne or chili pepper then don’t use these remedies. I am not a doctor so before using these creams, you should check to see if it would interfere with your medications or if you have any medical issues.

Turmeric

Turmeric is used as an herbal remedy because it’s an anti-inflammatory spice that can help reduce swelling and pain from arthritis.

Recipe 1: Golden Milk

Ingredients:

2 cups of milk ( any milk will do)

1 teaspoon of turmeric

1 teaspoon of ginger

1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon

pinch of pepper

dash of maple syrup (optional)

1 teaspoon of honey (optional)

Instructions:

In a glass, add all the ingredients. With a spoon mix it all together until it mixed well. You can either drink the milk cold or you can warm it up.

Recipe 2: Turmeric Tea

Ingredients:

1 teaspoon of turmeric

4 cups of water

Instructions:

In a saucepan, add turmeric and water. Stir and simmer on low heat for 10 minutes. Then strain the mixture into a cup. Enjoy.

You can add the following to the jot tea as a flavor:

1 teaspoon of honey

1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

fresh or dried ginger

lemon juice

The best time to take Turmeric is in the morning.

The recommended dosage for turmeric capsules is 400–600 mg 3 times a day or 1/2 to 3 grams of the root powder every day or 1 gram of curcumin per day.

It can take about 4 to 8 weeks before seeing any improvements to your body and your mind.

Disclaimer

Don’t take turmeric (internally) if you have the following:

gallbladder issues

a bleeding disorder

diabetes

gastroesophageal reflux (GERD)

iron deficiency

liver disease

if you are pregnant or

undergoing surgery

I am not a doctor so check with them before using turmeric.
