Daily Tarot Reading for January 25th, 2023

In this series, I’m pulling cards from the Rider-Waite-Smith tarot deck each day and performing readings in order to study and learn to decipher the meanings found in the tarot cards. And to share what the cards are saying with you here.

In today’s reading, I focused my thoughts and energies on today’s date. Wednesday, January 25th. And asked the cards to show me something that we need to know about today.

The cards I received are the Knight of Pentacles and the Page of Cups.

The knight of pentacles references money and work. The card shows a knight riding a black horse. In his hand, he is carrying a pentacle. He looks serious and seems like someone who can be trusted. The knight is also a symbol of action and strong work ethics. Horses symbolize hard work and initiative and the color black is all about power and speaks to the unconscious. I also feel that the horse speaks about movement and willpower. This knight is bringing us something. He’s traveled a bit to bring us news perhaps. He could be a courier. He brings us news of some kind. And I feel like it’s good news. The knight can also symbolize a project that might still be new, but it’s started. So maybe this card tells us about a new project we’ve just started. Again this is good news.

Our second card, the Page of Cups is all about emotions and love. A young man stands on the bank of a river dressed in a short tunic and an elaborate hat. In his right hand he holds a cup, in that cup is a fish. I feel like this card is again talking of news. This time it’s about our emotions or love. The fact that the cup has something in it means that he’s not just bringing us an empty cup. He’s bringing us something of substance. Something we can touch and taste. And the fact that the fish is in the foreground symbolizes that things will be upfront, out in the open. They won’t be hidden behind anything or veiled. And again this is all good stuff.

On one card we have a message of money or work, on the other a message of love or emotions. I would say that these two cards are telling us about a work-related event that we are going to love. It could be a change at work that’s for the better of the company or better for everyone in general. It could speak to a promotion. Or a shift in our responsibilities. Whatever it is it feels like a positive change that will allow us to feel better about ourselves and our work. The knight is also a symbol of responsibility. Perhaps in this change, there will be more responsibilities for us. Sometimes more responsibilities mean more work but in this case, I feel that it’s good news. That it’s something we’ve been wanting. The knight of pentacles has a big bright yellow sky indicating optimism and enthusiasm. There is also a fair bit of yellow in the Page of Cups card as well. Again we have an optimistic feeling about what is coming to us. If you’re feeling a little down, cheer up because there are good things on the way.
