Crystal Cleansing: Water

✨How to Use Water to Cleanse Your Crystals✨

✨Water is one of the simplest and most versatile ways of cleansing your crystals. this method can take many forms; from tap water to a natural source. No matter where it comes from, all water can cleanse and recharge your stones—provided that the gem in question is not damaged by water. Some prefer to cleanse their crystals at a natural source, while others take some from said natural water and cleanse their gemstones where they most feel comfortable. If you choose to use natural water that you have collected yourself, you can boil it before using it to cleanse things if you prefer. This method isn't for everyone as some practitioners feel that boiling the water destroys all of its cleansing energies. It's personal preference; use the cleansing method that feels right for you.

✨As with sunlight, water isn’t a suitable cleansing method for every stone and is not recommended for frequent or prolonged use. Check which crystals are comfortable with water, or use a safer method.

Fresh Water

✨There are a few ways to utilise naturally occurring fresh water, such as lakes, rivers and streams. You can collect a small amount of water directly from these sources and keep it for the purposes of cleansing your crystals —and anything else you want to use it for. This method is useful if you feel more comfortable cleansing in your own space, or you cannot easily get to natural water on a regular basis. You would need to regularly replace your collected water to keep it fresh and healthy if you choose this practice.

✨Another way of using natural water involves doing the cleansing at the actual source. This involves placing your crystals in a mesh bag (so they’re not lost) and holding the bag in your chosen water. You can keep them underwater for as long as you feel necessary – use your intuition to help you.

✨No matter whether you choose to take your water to a place you feel more comfortable or if you stay in the vicinity of the source, the actual practice is the same. Your gemstones should be submerged in your chosen water for any amount of time from one minute to a few hours. you can cleanse them in your hands or, if you prefer, leave them underwater outside. There's no need to dry them by hand; they can simply dry naturally in a safe place. If you choose to cleanse your crystals at the source, it's a good idea to place them inside a mesh bag to make sure you don't lose them.

Salt Water

✨One of the riskier ways of cleansing crystalline stones is using salt water from the sea. Similarly to using fresh water, this can be done on sight or can be collected for use in a safe place later. As many of us don't have easy access to the beach, it's a good idea to collect water from the ocean whenever you can, for use at home.

✨Interestingly, you can experiment with all different cleansing methods, but you can also combine them together as well. One practice that works especially well is cleansing crystals in seawater and leaving in the view of a Full Moon. The powerful energies of the moon already reside in the ocean, so combining these methods together can completely cleanse your crystals to their perfect and natural energised state.

Weather

✨Using the weather in your practices can be very helpful in terms of your cleansing rituals as it's constantly changing around us. Rainwater is particularly useful to revitalise your gems as there are many ways to utilise it; you can collect water while it’s raining, or place your crystals outside to be rained on, and retrieve them afterwards.

As well as rain, I would recommend taking advantage of any thunderstorms that occur. This can be amazing for your crystals, filling them with the energy of lightning as well as rain and thunder.

Ice, snow and hail can be used to the same effect; you can place your stones inside a container and fill it with ice and/or snow. in terms of hail, I would suggest leaving your crystals outside for them to be hailed upon, much like you would when using the rain to cleanse.

✨A slightly more difficult method is using dew drops from grass or plants for your gems. It may be harder to collect, but a few drops for each of your crystals is all you need. As with all of these practices, make sure that the crystals you're cleansing are safe to be in water.
