Did you know crying is unique to Humans?

Why have we evolved to be able to cry?

Crying is cleansing. It allows you to release all of the built up emotions you may be feeling.

It can be a form of self-care and can help you to feel better both physically and emotionally.

Crying also helps to reduce stress and can be a form of meditation.

Crying has many benefits that may surprise you. Tears work like a purgative, cleansing us of negative emotions.

Just like purging when we eat toxic foods, crying helps clear emotions that are not beneficial for us.

When we keep emotions inside of us, and we suppress them for long, it can impact our health in serious ways.

Crying is also a way of showing vulnerability, which can help you feel more connected to others.

Additionally, shedding tears has been shown to boost your immune system and help you heal physically from injuries.

Here are 8 reasons to let loose your lacrimation:

1. Crying allows you to release all of your pent up emotions

Crying is a way of releasing emotions that you may be bottling up inside.

It is a way to let go of all the negativity and stress that you are feeling.

When you cry, it allows you to feel lighter and more positive.

It is a way to cleanse your soul and start fresh. It can be a way of relieving our stress, especially when we aren’t feeling our best.

In my younger years, I was told that crying was a form of weakness. That I should be strong and hold my tears inside.

This later lead to pent-up emotions. Repressing anger, sadness, and grief. I often found myself throwing tantrums and blowing up in relationships.

Things could’ve been solved if I had only surrendered to my inner sensations.

By allowing my emotions, I was able to see the positive effects. It became a part of me I could no longer neglect.

2. Crying lowers your stress levels

Crying helps to clear your mind and can give you a sense of relief.

Whenever you feel overwhelmed or stressed, crying can be a natural and healthy way to release those emotions.

When you cry, your body releases endorphins, which have stress and pain-reducing effects.

Crying also gives you a moment to yourself to gather your thoughts and relax.

3. Crying is a form of self-care

Were you aware that crying is self-care? Shedding tears is a form of self-care because it allows you to release your emotions and feel better.

It also helps to clear your mind and allow you to think more clearly.

Crying is a way to show yourself that you are strong enough to handle your emotions.

True words are often paradoxical. It is easy to hold things in. It takes strength to let go.

Sometimes, crying is the only way to release your emotions and feel better.

Crying also helps to build resilience and can be a form of self- empowerment.

Ultimately, crying helps you to feel better both physically and emotionally and can be a very positive experience.

Crying relieves physical pain by releasing endorphins.

Endorphins are happy hormones that are released by the body in response to pain.

They make you feel good and help you cope with difficult situations.

They work to block the pain signals from reaching the brain, which can help to reduce the amount of pain that is felt.

Crying reduces inflammation and improves healing which also contributes to pain relief.

6. Crying improves your sleep quality

We’ve talked about how your body releases endorphins when you cry, which are natural pain killers released from the brain.

Endorphins also have a sedative effect, which can help you feel calmer and more relaxed.

Crying helps to reduce the levels of stress hormones in your body, such as cortisol.

Stress hormones can keep you from falling asleep and staying asleep.

So, if you're feeling stressed and overwhelmed, a good cry can actually help you sleep better.

7. Crying increases your empathy for others

Crying is a way to release emotions that you may be holding in.

When you cry, you are allowing yourself to be vulnerable in front of others.

This vulnerability can help create a connection with others and allow them to feel empathy for you.

Empathy is an important emotion that helps us understand and care for others.

By crying and allowing yourself to be vulnerable, you are increasing your empathy for others.

Crying is a safe and healthy way to let out all your emotions! It can be a way to connect with others who have experienced similar feelings.

Crying is a natural and physical way of communicating your needs and feelings to others.

It helps you to understand and empathize with others who are going through tough times.

Crying helps you to feel more connected, supported, and understood by others.

Crying is a great way to express yourself and get out what you’re feeling, but it is much more than this alone.

Crying is a form of self-care that allows you to feel your emotions and release them.

It helps you to feel more balanced and in control.

When you cry, your body releases certain hormones that help to fight off infection.

These hormones include cortisol and prolactin. Crying flushes out bacteria and other toxins from your body.

It helps to improve your mood and outlook, both of which can also contribute to a stronger immune system.

Thanks for reading! Overall, lacrimation can be lovely for your health and well-being. Next time your tears are induced, give your immune-system a boost.

If you’re feeling under the weather, go ahead and feel better by letting those healthy tears flow!
