The novel One Hundred Years of Solitude is an example of the remarkable application of magic in Latin American history. The novel was inspired by the modernity of North American and European literature and the Vanguardia art movement in Cuba.

This is how it happened. Marcos has played a fancy game over time. The past, present, and future hold hands as if moving forward. In particular, some events that will happen in the future have been described, as if they are as certain as the direct events of the past.

‘Many years later, standing in front of the firing squad, Colonel Aureliano Buendia will remember that afternoon; An expression similar to the first line of the novel is very common, the day his father discovered ice with him.
