Why Hair And Blood Testing Can Benefit Leaders

Understanding Psychophysiology More Deeply

Being Human is extremely complex.

This only becomes more complex as you become a Leader.

There are so many variables that you have to pay Attention to, that you are Responsible for.

Plus, when things go haywire, everyone looks to you to come up with the Solutions... or to Blame for the Problems.

It's common for us to go straight to Psychology to help us through the Problems, but is that enough?

We see a lot of Ideas that can help us through certain aspects of Leadership, there's no question about it.

But we also continuously see the Statistics around Leadership Success continuously fall.

Leaders are Trusted Less.

Innovation and Creativity seem to be decreasing across most organizations.

Active Disengagement and Burnout have been on the Rise.

Why do we continuously see all these Problems?

Well, we are Humans, and our problems are Complex, more complex than just Psychology alone can solve.

A gigantic aspect of our Success in life also depends on Physiology, and how our Psychology and Physiology interact with each other.

You can't have one without the other.

For our Psychology to work at its best, we need certain Physiological aspects to be working correctly.

We need to create enough Energy (Mg-ATP, what our cells use for fuel) to fuel all of our processes.

We need to be able to Recover from Stress Damage (aka Oxidative Stress).

We need certain Minerals at the right ratios for our Bodies to function correctly.

When any of these aspects go wrong, it makes Living more difficult, let alone handling all of the Challenges that come with Leadership.

This is where Hair and Blood Tests become very powerful for Leadership Success.

When we understand how these tests "should" look, we can create action plans to aid us in Improving our Physiology, and we can see what specific Challenges are Impacting us most.

When it comes to these aspects of Physiology, there are a lot of things to look at which can point to different specific challenges we are having.

For instance, are we getting the right Minerals in our food?

The reality is that most people are not.

If we take Magnesium (The Mg from Mg-ATP), we are in a society that is incredibly low in it.

Some estimates put Magnesium Deficiency as high as 75%.

What this means is that even if we are making ATP, we don't have the Mineral (Mg) to utilize it.

However, Magnesium tends to react to Dis-Stress.

The worse our Dis-Stress, the faster we lose Magnesium, to a point where you could feasibly burn it faster than you could ingest it!

When 80% of people are in Burnout, it is no surprise to see Magnesium at such low points.

Or we could look at Ceruloplasmin (Cp) in our body.

This is the body's Master Antioxidant.

There are No other Antioxidants and No "Superfoods" that work nearly as well in our bodies as Cp.

Cp is the primary aspect that can combat Oxidative Stress (Stress Damage).

However, many people aren't creating enough Cp in their bodies.

If we are not making enough Cp, our Oxidative Stress will increase, and the higher our Oxidative Stress, the more Dis-Stress builds up.

It becomes a vicious circle where we aren't producing enough Cp to eliminate Oxidative Stress, which builds up requiring more Cp to overcome.

This means that as Leaders have more Stressors (which are Inevitable), they don't have enough time to Recover.

Since All Stress Adds, it leads to less Resiliency and a lower ability to Think Properly and Handle Problems well.

This also leads to Less Creativity and Innovation as you become literally unable to think Clearly.

So, how can we learn if we are getting the proper Minerals and if our bodies are producing the necessary things to combat Oxidative Stress?

Well, we can use Hair and Blood tests to help us see how Dis-Stress Impacts us, what minerals we may be missing, and if our bodies are efficiently creating what they should be!

However, you have to be careful, because you need to understand the "overall" picture before deciding on how to act from these tests.

For Instance, it is not uncommon to see Magnesium (Mg) as "High" in Hair Tests.

If you read that you might think, "Oh! If Magnesium is high, then I should take less of it."

However, this would only cause more issues!

What is causing Magnesium to be High in the Hair?

Usually, High Magnesium on a Hair Test means that something else isn't working as it should be, such as...

  • You do not have enough Cp to combat Oxidative Stress
  • You're taking inorganic/synthetic supplements that you're body can't use (i.e. Vitamin D or Ascorbic Acid in Supplement Form)
  • You have Trapped Iron and have Anemia of Inflammation (Different than Anemia of Low Iron, which many people don't actually have)
  • Maybe you just have had extra Stress from Life or Work recently

All of these are viable possibilities, and there are more possible reasons, but it is hard to know "which" or if it is a combination of many of these unless you have a full Hair and Blood Test.

However, understanding what may be missing or what the specific challenges you are having can illuminate a way to Improve ourselves as Leaders.

Less Oxidative Stress means we are capable of Handling more Stressors (as is Necessary in Leadership).

With this, as Dis-Stress lowers, it becomes possible to Think more Clearly, which can lead to Creative Solutions and Innovations more easily.

Proper Magnesium utilization will lead to better Energy (Mg-ATP) which is necessary for Peak Performance attained through Flow States.

Understanding what Barriers may exist may also show you aspects of your Life you should look into more seriously, including things like Recovering from Emotional Trauma.

All of these and more are possible to understand through taking Hair and Blood Tests.

Just make sure you work with someone who understands how these tests "should" work, such as an RCP Consultant like myself.

When you look at the problems that Leaders are facing, the Reality is that most of them have a Physiological basis first, which only makes the Psychological aspects of Leadership more difficult.

Often, these Physiological aspects create a literal Barrier to Success that you just Physically can't overcome until you fix them.

If you understand the fullness of the Psychophysiology, you have significantly more Potential for Success than Psychology or Leadership Skills alone can provide.

Cody Dakota your article provides a compelling argument for the importance of considering physiological factors in leadership development

Honestly, I think the rot sets in in childhood. Kids are not fed well enough, exposed to too much stress, and failed by the education system which doesn't put enough emphasis on the creative subjects (music, art, dance, storytelling). These are important for ingenuity, and also for wellbeing, expression, and building resilience. Kids reach adulthood already on the back foot with their mental health.
