This Year Has Been A Lot
“Real growth is when you start checking and correcting yourself” I am going to say that this year has been a lot. Most people to me it seems that they have had negative experiences with the pandemic. Don’t get me wrong I also had negative experiences for example losing my aunt to Covid and last I saw her I was 13 or 12 years old and unable to say good bye. This year however, I grew so much in the most positive way. I started a new relationship and he does things for me, which no person ever has; he supports me to reach my goals and makes me a better person. We both recognize our flaws and we are both learning and growing through that. We know each other’s weaknesses and strengths. We are still getting to know each other and it’s been really great. Next, I got rid of the things of my past. I donated clothing and moved on to better things. I still do have a lot of things to get rid of and bit by bit I am doing it. I finally moved out of my parents house. It took a lot of saving money and I’m still learning how to save money while living on my own. I am getting there and I have grown so much because of it. I learned the importance of creating a shopping list for groceries, when to finish eating bananas before they go bad, remembering that I still have that onion in the fridge. I learned that doing laundry is important and that loading the dishwasher is not so bad. These were tiny things, which I was privileged with when loving with my parents. Paying rent on time is also a thing I had to put in my calendar. I am thankful that I have a job that is somewhat related to my career goals. I no longer stress about my career as much. I am still working my way towards my career and learning about it more.

O Holy Night
I still remember that night. It was the week before Christmas when a bunch of cheerful lads decided to join a small choir and go carolling from house to house. The main purpose: spend some time singing, having fun and, why not, collecting some extra money. Who doesn’t think of making extra money at Christmas time?

"Nothing Is Perfect, Mistakes Are Allowed."
"Nothing Is Perfect, Mistakes Are Allowed." Maybe this is a saying that has been used many times, maybe I am the one that uses it for the first time. Anyhow, I loved this saying a lot. When I do something, I love it when everything is perfect, or at least, I strive to perfectness. Then, in a moment I realise that I am not perfect, as well as nobody is, as nothing will ever be perfect.

On Process
I have just woken up. Turning over slowly in my bed, I reach for my phone. I know that I shouldn’t. I know that it is too early. If I allowed just a moment to relieve myself of digital dogma, perhaps I would not be so captivated by the gallery of presentations before me. Perfectly curated pages, images edited to the most sublime quality, and countless likes (which I of course mistake for affirmations) surround me like a storm. They taunt me to no end until I assume that my art is not enough. Ones and zeros comprise a wasteland where our confidence goes to die, only to be replaced by temporary dopamine highs. We are trapped by an illusion and entranced by a mirage, both working in tandem with our ruthless inner critic, resulting in a feeling of inadequacy. We become rash, distrusting of our own apparatus’ and, most of all, insecure.

MY CREATIVITY
THE PANDEMIC The global pandemic started in March 2020. I watched the news and felt increasingly worried about what was happening. I struggled to digest the situation. Life was going to change direction, causing disruptions to many sectors. I had to cancel my weekend trip to Birmingham watching a concert and touring the city seeing the Cadbury Factory and having a curry. Me and wife looked forward to the trip. It was a disappointment we could not go. Given the severity of the situation, it was not worth the risk taking the trip. There have been reports in high infection rates, hospital admissions and even deaths.

Greetings and Gratitudes, my dudes
Hi friends, welcome to ✨😤the fun zone😤✨ (That’s what I call this blog.) If you know me, you’ll know I’ve been toying with this idea for a while. I want a space to share my thoughts and writing, and I have a particular talent in over sharing personal details on the internet, so a blog just seemed like the most reasonable thing, idk.

I Believe Rest Is Key to Healing
My Pandemic Story I left my job in journalism in 2020. I realized I was putting too much stress on my shoulders. I was miserable putting together stories about the pandemic, politics, and crime. I lived in Chicago, so almost every day I had to report on murders.
