The Hardest Aspect Of Business

By Cody Dakota Wooten, C.B.C.Published 9 months ago 3 min read

There will be days when you question yourself.

Am I making the right decision?

Is this work worth it?

Does anyone ever notice?

Am I just wasting my time?

It is a hard place to be in.

I have found myself there, more often than I would like to admit.

But in time, this is what I have found.

Often we have no idea who's really watching.

On some platforms, less than 10% of the people actually engage with the content.

That doesn't mean that they aren't seeing it though.

In my articles, it took around 100 before I started to see people engaging with it.

It took closer to 200 to have people reach out to me about what I was writing.

Now, I am starting to see teams discussing my work and thinking about the possibilities.

It took awhile, it took a lot of work, but most of all it took persistence.

Do you believe in what you are doing?

Will it benefit others?

Do you WANT to stay in the game?

Are you willing to push the boundaries?

Even if it's uncomfortable?

Even if people don't understand it?

Even if others disagree with you?

Even when others attempt to steal your ideas as their own?

You will have to face all of these questions if you plan to be in the game.

You will get frustrated.

You will feel lost.

You will drop to your knees.

You will ask if it ever gets better.

None of these define you though - what defines you is whether you keep going.

The only things I can promise you on the road to Legendary is pain.

The reality is there will be a lot of it.

I won't make it sound pretty because it isn't.

What I also know is that it is the Trials we face that push us to become who we are.

Without the Trials, you amount to little or nothing.

If you push through all of that.

You face these questions, and you keep going.

You fall, and you get back up again.

You are stricken, and you stand tall despite it.

That is when the magic happens.

It's not a rainbow and butterflies kind of magic.

It's the type of magic when you're falling to your death, and you see the one thing in slow motion that will save your life.

That is the hardest thing in business.

Waiting, pushing, believing, and fighting up until you see that small and almost imperceptible thing that you grasp at.

That is the moment people begin to talk about you.

That is when you begin to earn your spot amongst the survivors.

What you will also learn is that the survivors find each other, they begin to work together, to keep surviving.

Others will think you are blessed, and amazing, and talented.

The survivors know differently.

They remember the struggles.

They remember feeling cursed.

They remember thinking they might be talentless.

It wasn't blessings or talent that got them there.

It was Faith in themselves, even when it was tough.

It was finding the right support systems that helped them stand back up.

It was the relentless pushing in what they knew, in what they firmly believed, even when others couldn't see it yet.

That is what you face on the Path.

The key to getting further on the Path is simple.

Keep going.

Keep going.

Keep going.

If you keep that in your mind, then you'll make it further.

Rest if you must.

The journey of 10,000 miles starts with a single step, but remember it's still 10,000 miles.

It won't take a day.

It won't take a week.

If you're luck it could take months.

It is far more likely to take years.

But keep going.

You do that, and you'll start to se the fruit of the labor.

Keep going.
