I just got tagged. In case you weren't aware, Oneg and James were running a series of challenges and the new one for today was the Tag You're It! Challenge. I have been tagged by Paul Stewart to write for the Interview community. Below is the link to Paul's yummy masterpiece.

Once upon a time, there was a writer of make believe.

She lived in a small town in Indiana, but spent most of her time, dwelling somewhere deep inside her mind.

Not to imply that she was deep, she just found it easier and more peaceful, mingling with her own imagination.

Her imagination, on the other hand, is quite spirited. Pulling her into stories and creating some of the best stories ever imagined, well - yet!

Today, we are going to take a few minutes to delve into the imaginary world and alter ego of Kelli Sheckler-Amsden

* So, Kelli, how long have you and your imagination been writing?

* Well, thank you, Self, for asking...I have been writing since about February 2018. I joined Vocal in October 2020, following a few, pretty hard years.

* Oh? Would you care to elaborate?

* Ok Self, I'm not sure anyone is quite ready for some of the...well, bullshit. (Nervous laughter...deep swallowing) Let's just say that life decided to throw-up, a little, on my world.

* I see, well then, moving on? Can you tell us where some of these ideas come from?

* Oh, Self- that one is easy....I let my imagination go. So, I suppose most of my writing should come with a disclaimer. "I am NOT responsible for the things I, uh, hehehe, my imagination comes ups with. Stay tuned for some more dark humor, sarcastic poems, and ex bashing. Can I say that one here?"

* (more nervous laughter) uh, I guess you just did.

* Sorry, I've never been interviewed before, I tend to say things I shouldn't when I'm nervous.

Okay, so here we go, some insight.

In January of 2018, my mom passed. She was a pretty big deal in my life. A constant, if you will, and it spun my world around. In February of that same year, my husband and I separated. One of us was, well, kept acting as if they weren't married. So, in April, I bought my first house.

In May... my youngest graduated high school and both of my girls left for college. For the first time - ever - I was alone.

In July, I was confronted with the denied infidelity, and prospect of a new baby...(his, with someone else.) Divorce soon followed.

In October, my good friend, (ex's stepdaughter) was murdered in our home, dying in my flower garden. I wrote a story regarding that whole, unbelievable experience, and the dangers of toxic relationships. I hope it helps someone.

* Self, I think that might be enough, I don't want to scare anyone off. But hopefully this explains a bit about me, my writing, and why I prefer hiding out.

Maybe next time, I can tell everyone about Grayson...his little boy?

* Thanks Kelli, I think you have already done that, he is amazing.

Ok everyone...you've heard it from the horse's mouth. Kelli isn't going anywhere. She is loving the new challenges and comradery she finds from this wonderful community.

Thank you for your time, your patience, your attempts to critique and guide, but MOST importantly. Thank you for being such a great audience of teachers, Kelli really appreciates it.

Till next time, (her imagination)

That was really well done, and in a short time frame to boot. Great job.

  • I imagine that went quite well, Kelli. I don't believe I had heard about the murder. I'm so sorry.
