To whom it may concern
I am so sorry that you are too dense to comprehend the simplest of directions. That constructive criticism sends you into tears. That your mistake has cost this company money. That you need someone to mommy you now that you made this mistake.
Stop being a baby and do better next time.
Keep moving forward.

To whom it may concern,

Dear little hurt sheep,
My secretary told me that I was too hard on you in my last apology. That I should rewrite it before I send it to you. So here it is all rewritten. All ready for your sensitive sensibilities.
Sorry that you messed up and caused us to lose out on money. Stop crying about it and don’t mess up again.
Keep moving forward.

Dear Cry Baby,

Dear Snowflake,

Dear Idiot,

Dear Henry,
It has come to my attention that maybe I was too hard on you when you messed up and cost us the account.
Now man up, get to work and make up for it.
Anyone could of made the mistake of spilling hot coffee on the client. Of almost knocking them out as they were trying to clean off the hot coffee from them. Of knocking their glasses off, making them drop the glasses and stepping on the glasses while trying to help pick them up. Then, elbow them in the face giving them a black eye as you both were trying to pick up said glasses.
So man up deal with it and move forward.
…
Dearest Henry,
I am so sorry I let my temper get the best of me. My intent was not to make you cry. Don’t worry there will be other clients. You can do this, you are a bright talented young man. You have so many good skills and this is just a set back.
So put this behind you and keep moving forward.
Sincerely —- yours tru—- respectfu—-

Look kid,
I see you reached out to the client and apologized for everything. Nice work on accepting responsibility and trying to do something about it. Good going on the flowers and cards sent and letting them know you will pay for them to get new glasses. I don’t know if any of this will help but it was a good effort.
I’m sorry that I lost my temper with you. You have to understand that I built this company from the ground up. So I have some stake in what we do, how we look, and how professional we are.
You’re a good kid with lots of potential but you allow yourself to get in your own way. Any time you feel things going wrong pause, take a deep breath, take a moment and believe in yourself. Always take responsibility for your actions and do something to rectify the situation.
Keep working hard, always learn, always move forward. Know your limitations and ask for help when you need it.
Accidents do happen but it’s what you do after them and because of them that counts. Don’t let them define you don’t let them bring you down. Take responsibility, make amends if possible and move on with a lesson learned. Celebrate your victories, but don’t get carried away. Believe in yourself, but don’t get a big head.
Now get to work.
Your boss
P.S. this is what you get, this is me now get to work.
P.S.S Thank my secretary that you did not get any of the many drafts of this letter I wrote up. You owe her one or two or three or four. Now stop lollygagging.
