Wolf Moon

Lucid Dreaming

By WiñaiPublished about a year ago Updated about a year ago 3 min read

Tired from day's work

like that of a wolf hunting in the winter

Howling for evenings together with the pack

Getting off a few stops early because the destination doesn't afford one

So getting off a few stops sooner at a Deli

It's cheaper than the baron who makes a pretty penny off of it

The mechanical delays cuts on precious time

It is winter and night accompanies us sooner

Distorted thinking, "What if you don't have to work as much?"

You see them scratch off tickets, so you begin the anxiety-filled scratching

like a chicken to the ground, only they have a natural purpose

You scratch until your hands and clothes are all dusty

"Oh No!" Realization sets in, you're down $80 and you still haven't bought

a 12 pack for the pack

It's surely $100 down the drain, working at a dull dead end job

it pains even more

Suck it up, time has never been a friend for the end result is the same

to all

Take a deep breath, sigh, maybe curse a bit

Jump the turnstile, careful with the men in blue

who are always at the wrong place at the right time

It's rush hour, it's the exchange of particles from one to the other

God I miss those social distancing days

The weight of the bag pains the thoracic

You're almost there among the trees

It was just last winter that you were with her

Having had made amends with beast to beast

I miss you Beni

My first fur ball with a significant other

She too is gone, Lela

Full Moons were more peaceful back then

because you were controlled by the greater sex

the sex that brings life

They say " A man without a woman isn't a man"

It is true to the ancients

Our nightly trips didn't involve alcohol

it was fermented with bodily chemicals

Extra stimulants wasn't necessary

it came from the heavens, for her at least

For me its origin is unknown

After she left, I was left in Hell

For the past six months you've left me wandering

searching for hits of dopamine here and there

From pack to pack from experience to experience

seeing where I place in this universe

A myriad figures, faces, pleasures, pains

awake or asleep, I do not know

Supernatural at times, The Devil and God fight over this poor soul

I don't want none of it, I choose to be a lone wolf

Sounds good, feels good

But as I awaken, tired

closer to my grave

I'll let out one last howl

This time not to rally

Not to hunt

or claim my territory

but to find my way home

I couldn't sleep two night ago

I just couldn't, warm milk was tried

release of the similar for fatigue also failed

Going to the gym until all muscles are sore to no avail

Tonight, on the eve of the Full Wolf Moon, however ...

Finally there but not yet,

You are there at the cusp of twilight

You make haste with your dogs

You arrive to have missed the game

Greetings, It's my turn

Remove the weight

Pass the elixir around

Cheers!

Finally, to surface from deep waters

Exchanging of suffering

to light them up and exhale to the moon

We are, once again, in the moment of excess

Bottles fill the bag,

We are good people, We recycle for mother nature

in this overpopulated city filled with smog

The natural herb is also finished.

You wake up in bed somehow,

probably guided by the spirits

You're already late for the labor camps

You're dehydrated

Your body and mind are in pain

But the soul is enriched.
