High intelligence with low truth preference is a waste of intelligence, which is why I have more respect for intelligent men than intelligent women - because low truth preference is rarer in smart men than it is in smart women, and a high IQ delusional person is a pathetic sight to behold once they're in full swing.

With a dumb person, you can excuse a certain degree of foolishness. You may think to yourself, well, they aren't so bright, so they probably just don't get it. You don't expect much, so you're not disappointed. But when you see a person who is smart enough to get it yet still fails to, their foolishness disappoints you. You think to yourself "you could be better" and yet there they are abusing their God given gifts to be wholly delusional.

So to me there is a sort of 2x2 matrix, intellect representing cognitive ability, and wisdom representing accurate models of reality and a preference for truth over delusion.

The ultimate combination is high intellect, high truth preference - as the intellect can be most shrewdly applied based on an accurate understanding of reality, rather than bastardized into rationalizations and fancy theorization that yields little to no meaningful productive and tangible results, but is in itself a cognitive rabbit hole which consumes the mind with hypotheticals.

The next combination is high intellect, low truth preference - these people have high cognitive ability, but faulty models for reality and so are more prone to deny self-evident truths, twist narratives to fit their sentiments, and are generally less aligned with and dedicated to the pursuit of truth. They are highly ideological and form entire intellectualized movements around their own foolish sentiments. This is the most dangerous group, as they have the foolishness to desire net negative outcomes, and the cognitive horsepower to drive it. I would put the majority of intelligent women in this group, bar a few true outliers, as well as the feminised men who enable them.

The next combination is low intellect, high truth preference - these are your "I'm not very academically smart but I'm street smart" people - they have as accurate a model of reality as their cognitive ability allows for, but unlike the last group who has the ability but not the preference for truth - they have the preference, but not the ability. They are the quintessential opposite of the overly socialized bourgeois middle class. Their lower IQ tends to mean lower income, which means they cannot insulate themselves from foolishness with money.

The final combination is low intellect, low truth preference - these people are usually lifelong dependants on their family, or if without family, reliant on the state for their whole lives. The mental age of children, but in adult bodies. Probably shouldn't be allowed to enter legal contracts (just like children) as they are not only cognitively dim, but also lack the cunning necessary to protect themselves from the unsavory.

So to summarise, we have:

High intelligence, high truth preference - these are mostly men, and overrepresented by various niches such as engineers, autists, mathematicians and anyone with an object over person focused orientation on reality - not all these men are necessarily wise, but their preference for truth and logic will eventually lead them to wisdom.

High intelligence, low truth preference - these are mostly women, due to their hormonal makeup and person over object orientation - not all these women are necessarily foolish, but their neuroticism, preference for and excessive trust in emotion over reason, as well as their desire to fit in and find consensus means they are more likely to abuse their intelligence to rationalise things they find discomforting, and therefore are more likely to believe and behave foolishly in spite of their cognitive ability even at an advanced age.

Low intelligence, high truth preference - these are people who find it hard to make a lot of money without engaging in crime, and are punished severely by society if they lack cunning or what is informally referred to as "emotional intelligence" - therefore even though they aren't incredibly intelligent, their values will align with their more intelligent counterparts because they are not hostile to the truth like the previous group. They do the best that they can with what they have, and do not abuse their intellectual gifts to dismiss the true and self-evident unlike the previous group. Think of the high IQ shakes low IQ persons hand, whilst the midwit seethes meme - but with the nuance of truth preference.

Low intelligence, low truth preference - these are generally people with extremely low IQs or some kind of mental deficiency. Not academic or cunning. Adult children that are a lifelong liability on their family and the community.
