walking in the background

What does it mean to be in the background? Some of you might ask. Well, the answer though very complicated, is also straightforward. In today's society, we each fall into groups. This happens continuously throughout life at school, at work where ever there calls for socializing. You can always find that different types of people will still group together with similar traits, skills, interests, and mindset, the list goes on, but what about those that don't fall into any groups...

Every now and then, some just don't quite fit, and due to this, they are isolated and rendered invisible to those around them. This type of soluted can be one of two things. To those of us in the background, it can be hellish torture as the inability to truly connect with someone seems to be like an impossible task. Thus it creates a pain in our hearts that seems to never end. Even when we try and try again to indeed find a connection, only to fail and inflicted with more pain, anguish, and heartache than that of which we previously held. This fate befalls some of us in the background with tender, warm hearts, and love and emotions to which if you could have in your hands. would shine bright and beautiful like that of a newly born star.

But sadly, the fate of those backgrounds either ends in such beautiful serenity, peace, and love that can not even be described in words. or suffering and anguish that could make the soul yearn for peace, sometimes even shout for it. However, this is too often mistaken as yearning for the cold embrace of death. This is the fate that has gripped too many.

The second type of us in the background are those to which the mind is more controlling and dominant. These are those of us in the background that are more guided by logic. To where they almost are not even aware of being in the position they are in. there is not much more I, as an author, can say because I have yet to know such a person.

In the background, not much is said, this leaves only the eyes to observe and the ears to listen. Observation and analyzation become daily practice like that of religion—the constant comparison to those we have seen before. Imagine being able to know everything about a person without ever exchanging a single word, to have paid attention so much attention to those around you that everything becomes all too familiar.

Sometimes we notice and see with such clarity and vividity, the masking persona that people use . a skill that is almost like second nature, to look into another's eyes and almost know their very soul. This is a blessing to some of us in the background. It allows us to quickly notice manipulation and deception more accurately than the most advanced lie detecter. That which seems almost supernatural merely compares and contrasts an analyzation from a multitude of examples, samples, experience, and intuition that is a gift that those who walk in the background obtain, but it can be a curse to others. The unknown, the thrill of surprise, the fun of not knowing, becomes like an old friend you rarely that you see only once in a blue moon. this is the truth

When someone from the background finally leaves and is no longer in the background, it can be a joyful and beautiful experience. If the walker wants to go and yearned to leave, the feelings gained from this transition is like no other. To fully comprehend and describe, it is no easy feat in itself, as each experience and feel is unique to every individual person. But in the understandable sense, it is like finally belonging for the very first time. It is like finding the purpose of the past and the reason for the future.
