Valentine's Day In

Many people choose to stay home on Valentine's day, but it does not have to ruin the mood of the holiday! Whether you don’t have a babysitter, are trying to save money, or just don’t want to deal with crowds a Valentine's Date Night at home may be the solution you are looking for. Most people think that a night in has to be boring or routine you know Nexflix and chill, but with a little creativity, you can create a fun night at home that you will both have fond memories of. Here are a few ideas to inspire you!

Pizza Delivery

This one seems simple, but there is a twist. If you have kids feed them and put them to bed, then depending on how you would like this scenario to play out order a pizza for takeout from your favorite place and have either you or your partner go pick it up. The twist is when they get back they knock on the door like it is a delivery, but oh no you don’t have any money, so you need to think of another way to pay… As you can imagine you may wind up reheating that pizza, but that is ok it was not the main event anyhow! Take a Trip

This one takes a bit of planning but can be so much fun! Pick a destination that you and your partner have always wanted to visit, Paris, Rome, Greece, wherever you wish. Then take a pretend trip to that location, prepare food from that area, pick a movie set in that location, and you can even decorate to match your theme. Solve a Mystery

If games and puzzles are your things then this idea is for you! Make up a bunch of your favorite snacks and beverages and find a comfy place to work. Then pull out one of these murder mystery games and put your detective skills to work! I linked one, but there are tons of titles and brands to choose from so you pick something that sparks your interest. I cannot promise that there will not be some healthy debates as you work together to solve the mystery, but you will also have fun spending time together and working on important communication skills in your relationship.

Spa Night

Grab some facemasks, foot masks, massage oil, and maybe even some comfy robes, and settle in for a night of pampering. Assemble all of your products in a relaxing location, put on some soothing music, and just relax and enjoy pampering each other! How you want this to play out is up to you, you can take turns pampering each other, or do the treatments yourself (with the exception of massages) and just spend the time together talking and enjoying each other’s company. I do recommend that you end with the massage portion of your evening though. A nice charcuterie board and some wine or sparkling water pair nicely with this evening.

Smore Wine

Grab a big fluffy blanket, your favorite smores ingredients (think out of the box, I recommend getting some fun flavored chocolate) your favorite beverage, and head outside. You can use a firepit, a grill, one of these special smores makers, or even a large candle to make your smores. Then get comfy and enjoy your night under the stars.
