"Unlocking the Power of Coffee to Transform Your Health"

The Coffee Revolution

By Isabelle MassePublished 3 days ago 5 min read

Precious readers, please sit back and enjoy the day as I will talk about two of my favorite subjects, coffee and you. Or should I say – you and me? Coffee! It is the most popular beverage out there, after water, not that my lovely daughter would like me to remind her about that. But first, I think that you might be asking yourself (yet again) why coffee is so popular among adults, and why coffee became the beverage that is irreplaceable for hundreds of millions of adults worldwide. Why is it consumed every single day, regardless of the weather? Is it the taste? Well, not only taste but also because of the beneficial health effects that coffee brings. From burning fat to boosting metabolism, coffee is extremely beneficial for your health. This article seeks to explain in detail and help you understand how it works, and how it is possible to use coffee to gain maximum benefits. So, put your feet up (I need mine for writing), and let’s talk about coffee and health!

1. Why Your Coffee Can Be Your Best Fat-Burning Friend

Let’s unpack the terms here. What does it mean to ‘burn fat’ or ‘boost metabolism’, anyway? Your body is like a car: you need to fuel it to keep it running. That fuel comes from what you eat. Sometimes you eat more than your body needs, and it stores the excess as fat to use later. Burning fat means using up some of that stored energy.

Metabolism is your car’s engine. The faster engine will require more fuel just for idling, so coffee might speed up your metabolism, and this means you’ll burn more fuel — or fat — as you go about the day.

Then why is coffee such a special drink? Caffeine…Caffeine is a natural stimulant that gives a boost of energy and makes your body work harder and faster. In a similar manner to alcohol, caffeine truly increases the rate of burning fat, fuelling your body to burn more energy and thereby raising your metabolism.

2. The Best Time to Drink Your Fat-Burning Coffee

And the timing is all-important for coffee. Research shows just when you need to sit down and drink it to make it work. Next time you fancy a cuppa, try grabbing coffee at these times and see how your body responds.

1. When you’ve done with breakfast. It’s ideal to sip on your hot beverage after your morning meal, as insulin produced when you digest carbohydrates (like the bacon and eggs you’ll be having with your coffee) works to lower your blood glucose. This allows Caffeine to get into your system, engendering that nice buzz and, more importantly, mobilizing fat so it can be used for energy.

2. When you’ve done with lunch. The story remains much the same when you’re done with your post-workout lunch: the insulin released when you digest carbohydrates makes way for fat to be utilized as an energy source.

3. When you’re exercising. With exercise, especially cardiovascular exercise, you’re already increasing your body’s demand for oxygen, and raising the level of fat in the bloodstream in turn. Your body can save some time and jump into the fat-burning mode if you again sip on your cup of hot fat-burning dark roast or espresso.

4. When you wake up. And in case you don’t imbibe caffeine in the evening or with meals, you can drink it first thing in the morning when you wake up and you should be good to go.

Morning Magic: Coffee in the morning wakes you up and gets the metabolic day going. ( But, because coffee is highly acidic, drink it after breakfast to avoid indigestion.) In my case, I have no problem drinking 3 cups on an empty stomach.

Pre-Workout Power-Up: Having coffee about half an hour before you exercise gives you some extra energy to power through your workout and burn more fat.

If you’ve had your normal dinner and are feeling a little sleepy around the afternoon, a few sips from a cup of coffee should help wake you up and keep your metabolism going strong. Afternoon Pick-Me-Up.

Just remember, don’t drink coffee late or you won’t get to sleep. Some people drink coffee at night and still sleep. I get agitated.

3. Supercharge Your Coffee with These Ingredients

There are a number of additives that might spice up your cup of coffee a little more. Here is a list of some:

Six ways to make your coffee healthier:

• Coconut oil: Start your day with healthy fats by adding a spoonful of coconut oil!

• Apple cider vinegar: Burn body fat and get more energy by adding a teaspoon of ACV.

• Cinnamon: Lower blood sugar levels, reduce hunger and enhance weight loss with a sprinkling of cinnamon.

Add protein powder: protein builds muscles and keeps you feeling full.

Ginger: This spicy root can speed up your metabolism and aid digestion.

Cocoa: A little bit goes a long way, making your coffee taste like a treat and packing a healthy dose of antioxidants.

Just give one, two or more of these ingredients a try, and see what happens!
