Unlocking the Potential of Your People with Employee Engagement

Are you happy at work? How satisfied are you with your job? About 40% of working people would say they are happy at work, but if given the opportunity, they would take $1 million and leave in a flash. Is this a sign of job satisfaction?

What’s relevant is that organizations that have a lot of happy employees outperform the stock market. It's not about the perks and benefits, though. True, people require a certain amount of money to survive, but not all the wealthy are content. When it comes to creating a happy home, people's hearts can only rest when there is trust and respect.

What should the purpose of your Employee Engagement Strategies be?

It is critical to establish the organization's intention for employee engagement, or else it will be merely icing on the cake. It's useful, but it doesn't solve anything. The main intention is to have meaningful action after the employee engagement survey.

1. Cultivate a culture of respect: Respect should be at the core of any successful organization, as it fosters loyalty, trust, and motivation. This should include both respect for employees and respect for the work they do.

2. Encourage open and honest communication: Communication is key to any successful organization and should be both open and honest. This includes providing employees with feedback and regularly engaging with them to ensure they feel valued and heard.

3. Listen to and act on employee feedback: Listening to employee feedback is essential to creating an engaged and motivated team. This includes acting upon the feedback and utilizing it to continually improve the workplace.

4. Provide meaningful work: Employees should be rewarded with meaningful work and given the opportunity to grow and develop their skills. This should include challenging and stimulating tasks, as well as meaningful recognition.

5. Recognize and reward accomplishments: Recognizing and rewarding accomplishments is essential to motivating employees.

How to design Employee Engagement Workshop.

Each organization has its own root causes for what needs to be fixed in order to have a better organization. After getting the employee engagement results, it is important to design an employee engagement workshop. This workshop should be tailored to the needs of employees as revealed by the results of the employee engagement survey. When the results of the engagement survey are released, all employees should be informed in Company Town Hall, and the leadership team should stand up and say that we will take action to correct the situation because we want the best for all of us.

The first step in designing an employee engagement workshop is to identify the areas in which employees need the most help. Depending on the size of the organization, this workshop could be conducted in function as well as with a sample group of employee ambassadors. This could include improving team collaboration, addressing Work-Life Balance issues, or developing a better process for the team. Once these areas have been identified, you can use the survey results to design a workshop that will address those issues.

Next, create an agenda, select a facilitator, and find a suitable location. You should also decide whether the workshop will be a one-time event or a recurring event.

Once the plan is in place, you can start to develop the content for the workshop. This could include presentations of employee engagement results, and interactive brainstorming activities on actionable steps for improving employee engagement.

Finally, you need to promote the workshop and ensure that employees know about it. Posting information on the company intranet, sending emails to all employees about the action plans and who will be the change leaders, and creating posters are all examples of things that could be done. And which leaders are championing change in each of these areas.

Employee engagement issues are difficult to resolve; some stem from underlying causes that have accumulated over time. Employee engagement action plans should be co-created from the top down and the bottom up. That is, everyone can contribute to making efforts and adjustments to make a better home for all.

By following these steps, you can create an effective employee engagement workshop that will help employees feel more engaged and connected to their workplace.
