After the wonderfully love filled movie "To all the boys i've loved before" we were all left squirming in our seats longing to see if there was going to be a sequel, we were not left disappointed, 2 years after the original movie was released in 2018 Netflix brought out the sequel "To all the boys P.S i still love you" in February 2020.

We were all sat at the edge of our seats during the end credits of "To all the boys i've loved before" wondering where life would take Laura Jean Covey and Peter Kavinski portrayed by Lana Condor and Noah Centinio in the upcoming sequel, who could have guessed that the 5th and final letter receiver John Ambrose Mclaren played by Jordan Fisher would make an appearance and throw the new couple off track.

The viewers very early on had to pick a side of who they believed Laura Jean would end up with by the end of the movie. People like me who were shipping Peter and Laura Jean from the first meeting didn't want to let go of their long awaited romance. Through the ups and downs in the first movie and how hard the couple worked to get to where they ended, i think we deserved some time to see the couple we wanted, but would there ever be a movie worth watching if there wasn't complications along the way.

With a poll including 50 people only 14 voted that they wanted Laura Jean to be with John Ambrose but a crazy 36 were on the side of Peter Kavinski winning her heart.

With many romantic comedies the plot is always predictable, but with the constant changing of connections between each character we are left unsure of who she would choose throughout the story line. With John Ambrose being the sweet and shy childhood crush and Peter being the dependable boyfriend and most popular guy in school, who could possibly choose between the two?

Emotions run high and hearts are broken in this twisting tale of a teenage love story. Out of nearly 2000 votes most of the reviewers left 5 stars and couldn't get enough of the beautifully directed movie, but few felt the movie was too plain and didn't show as much love as the first film leaving the movies standing at 4 stars.

Here are some of the reviews:

5 star review wrote "I was so scared that this movie was not going to live up to the high expectations considering the first movie and boy was I wrong! I felt the movie was moving too slow at first but I guess I was just trying to nitpick on something or the other since generally the second movie of successful movies are not that great. The chemistry between LJ and Peter felt a bit flat though(their kissing scenes are not that good either). But damn did I love every scene.

I am totally Team John Ambrose ever since the books but during the movie you can see that LJ going through a rough time trying to navigate her relationship with Peter"

1 star review wrote ""To All the Boys: P.S I Still Love You" is a sad attempt at recreating the original film, and is a failure in its ability to "pull at the heart strings". The beginning of the film leaves us to assume that it picks up right where the previous film left off, meaning that Laura Jean and Peter would have just recently started their "official" relationship. However, the film attempts to make us feel sympathy for the couple as though they have been together for awhile, but this is just not the case. Next, the new "love interest", John Ambrose, is a textbook intrusive personality and interacts with Laura Jean with the mindset of "I deserve her" or "She's supposed to be with me", meaning he comes off as very entitled and disingenuous. The viewer develops no real connection with any of the characters and therefore feels no sympathy for them."

Everybody has their own opinion on the film but my opinion is that although the chemistry is lacking between the characters Peter and Laura Jean, the plot of the movie is a real life problem that is faced in the day to day life. Laura Jean struggles to understand her feelings towards an old flame and must fight to figure out her own heart while fighting jealousy within her own relationship. The real life problems make this movie relatable and heart warming.

One thing is for sure, i am definitely looking forward to the next movie "To all the boys: always and forever, Laura Jean" that is due to be released early 2021.
