She was a bright woman who entered New York University at the age of 16, and after successfully obtaining a degree in mechanical engineering, worked for American Eastern Airlines. She thought her life would go on like this, but a job posting changed her whole life.

"What, you're going to be a model? That's crazy." When people around her found out what she was thinking, they all sighed like this. No wonder, that year, she was already 27 years old, she really wasn't young for the modeling industry. In addition, her height is only 1.65 meters, and she is also a mother of two children.

But no matter how much people around her discouraged her, she decided to give it a try, because she really did not want to put up with the airline's meager salary of 65 cents per hour. After an interview and a preliminary round, she lied about being only 19 years old, and with her hourglass figure and vivid eyebrows, she made it to the final round with four other young and beautiful girls.

The final was a thrilling one, with each contestant at a good level, and after a few rounds, she and the four girls were still indistinguishable from each other. Just as the final round came to a close, there was a sudden change in the situation. The old man presiding over the final unexpectedly said to one of the girls, "You are so beautiful, can I kiss you?" The girl was horrified and fled in panic. It didn't end there, the host stubbornly asked one by one, some contestants left in anger, some even angrily rebuked the host, and then were persuaded to leave by the staff. She was left standing alone on the field. What to do? After offending this old and ugly man, her dream of modeling would probably be shattered. The momentary thought did not show on her face, she always smiled. Sure enough, the old man with the big belly came towards her again. The audience was silent, and all eyes were on her. "You're so beautiful, can I kiss you?" There was a lot of sighing and some people even shouted that the old man was simply crazy.

She smiled as she looked around the arena and everyone quickly quieted down. At that moment, she gracefully raised her hand. The old man put his head down, gave her a gentle kiss on the back of her hand, then smiled and said to her, "You're the smartest angel I've ever seen." Applause erupted from the floor.

Afterwards, people realized that "Can I kiss you" was the final question of the modeling final. Facing the seemingly sudden embarrassment, she easily resolved it with wisdom and grace, winning the applause of the audience and leaving a deep impression on people.

From then on, she pushed open the door of luck and embarked on the road of modeling, and became unstoppable, successively appearing on the covers of many world famous fashion magazines such as "Harper's Bazaar", "Paris Competition", "World Fashion House", "Vogue" and so on, and became popular in the whole fashion circle. As the old man praised, she was like a wise angel, walking through the fashion and fame scene in New York, USA with ease, and became the loveliest woman in the eyes of many photographers she worked with. When she was 35 years old, the photographer Afton shot the later classic "Fire and Ice" ad for Revlon, in which her scarlet nail polish-painted hands were a wonderful touch, aptly interpreting Revlon's provocative slogan of the year: "For you who love to play with fire For you who love to play with fire, who dare to dance on thin ice." Since then, her modeling career has reached its peak. She was earning 65 cents an hour when she finally became a supermodel earning $300,000 a year.

She is recognized as the world's first supermodel model Doreen Lee.

In her later years, Doreen Lee published an autobiography, "The Girl Who Had It All," in which she looks back on the anecdotes of her modeling career, and that once thrilling final was an essential chapter. She believed that knowing the wisdom of the world is the key to a woman's social standing and success.

Success comes from hard work, but details determine success or failure. If you work hard and have a delicate heart, you will be close to success, right?
