Once upon a time, in a land filled with forests and mountains, there lived a man named Roy Sullivan. Roy was no ordinary man; he had a secret that made him unique in the whole wide world. This secret was so shocking that it made him famous, but it also brought him a lot of worries. You see, Roy was known as the Lightning Man because he was struck by lightning not once, not twice, but seven whole times and lived to tell the tale!

Roy worked as a park ranger in the beautiful Shenandoah National Park. His job was to look after the park and make sure everything was safe and sound. But little did he know, nature had chosen him for a very unusual adventure. The first time lightning decided to say "hello" to Roy was on a stormy day in 1942. He was seeking shelter in a fire tower when lightning struck, leaving a hole in his shoe! Can you imagine that? A hole burned right through by lightning!

Now, getting struck by lightning once is super rare. The chances are like finding a needle in a haystack. But getting struck seven times? That's almost impossible! Yet, Roy Sullivan beat those impossible odds. Each time lightning struck, it brought a new story. Once, it even set his hair on fire! Roy had to run and put it out with water. After that, he always carried water with him, just in case lightning paid another visit.

You might think that after the first few times, Roy would stay indoors during storms. But no, lightning seemed to find him wherever he was. It didn't matter if he was driving, walking, or just standing around; lightning had a way of finding Roy. It was as if he was playing a game of tag with the clouds, and the clouds were it!

People started to notice Roy's unusual luck with lightning. They gave him nicknames like "Spark Ranger" and "Human Lightning Conductor." But being famous for this reason made Roy feel lonely. People were scared to be near him, thinking they might get struck by lightning too. Even his wife was afraid to stand next to him outside during a thunderstorm. Despite all this, she supported him through every strike and scare.

Scientists and doctors were baffled by Roy's experiences. They tried to figure out why he was a lightning magnet, but they couldn't come up with a clear answer. Was there something special about Roy? Or was it just the strangest luck? No one knew for sure. Roy wondered if nature was trying to tell him something or if he was just incredibly attractive to lightning.

Roy's story is not just about the lightning strikes but about his courage and resilience. Despite the fear and loneliness, he continued to live his life. He even made it into the Guinness Book of Records as the person struck by lightning the most times in the world. That's a record most people wouldn't want to break!
