It was a dark and stormy night. The house was quiet and dark. Wandering through the halls you could hear the creaks in the floor as he continued walking down the hall. It was a mystery as to why this place had been emptied for all these years. Still, he wandered around checking out this historic building in awe. Thinking up scenarios of all the events that had gone on. All the people who came in and out, especially he wondered what celebrities could have been here. Scenarios playing in his head when he heard a sudden crash shaking him from his daydreaming. Following the hallway, he runs into another person. Looking puzzled and confused they stare at each other for a moment.

Realizing that they are no longer the only ones wandering around this historic home. They introduce each other, "Hello, nice to meet you I am Larry, you are? Oh, nice to meet you Larry I am Bob." Feeling relieved that it wasn't a spiritual ghost they begin a casual conversation. Asking each other what brought them here, Larry says, "I was walking by and saw that it was abandoned. I thought I'd come in and take some photos of this historic building. Curiosity piqued my interest I suppose. That is fascinating Larry, Bob said. I was just doing the same." The two men realized they had something in common and began building a friendship.

They decided to continue their journey through the house. Talking about photography, family, life, etc. As they walked along the halls of this historic home they heard another noise. Feeling a little anxious the men decide to continue walking but keep an eye out for anything that might be around any corners. Walking down the hall towards a doorway they notice a shadow walking by. Bob pipes up and says, "did you see that?" Not knowing what it could be Larry says softly, "yes, did you?" Walking slowly down the hall the two gentlemen come to a stop. Goosebumps crawling up their spine. Larry and Bob decide to check it out.

Walking toward the shadow they start brainstorming what it could be. Then a breeze comes behind them, sending another chill down their spines. Following the men down the hall, the shadow starts to speak. It says, "hello, how can I help you." The men quickly turn around with a shocked look on their faces. Feeling frozen in their footsteps, they try to process the voice they heard. Staring at each other they wonder if they should run or if it would be an extraordinary picture. Then Larry begins pulling out his camera but before he can click the shadow is gone.

Looking at each other with a puzzled look they decide to continue through the house. As they continue their search down the hall the shadow circles back around. Shadow again speaks, "Hello, how can I help you?" Both men turn around again to see the shadow standing behind them. Wondering to themselves if the shadow used to work here, they try once again to get a picture. The shadow was dressed as an attendant who used to welcome guests into the home. Wearing a hat with a green jacket and black pants. Just as the two men were about to capture the picture, the shadow continued down the hall. Looking in amazement the men continue.

As they near the end of their tour they notice the shadow behind the desk. They notice it shuffling through papers on the desk. As they approach the desk they see a welcome nice, "Welcome to the dragonfly inn." Looking around for other evidence of what could have happened here, they notice a few newspaper clippings. Highlighted in bold letters, "FIRE AT THE DRAGONFLY". Reading through the clippings they realize the shadow was part of the fire. It never made it out in time and ever since has been lingering around the inn. The men look at each other and notice this house is a historic landmark that was built in 1949. Realizing where they were, each man was in awe. It had been years since anyone entered this building and the men wondered why it wasn't knocked down.

Walking out of the inn they begin talking about fixing it up since the damage didn't look so bad. Both men decided that they would come back in the morning and check out the rest of the inn. To the damage during the day because at night you couldn't see much.

The next day rolled around. The men met at the entrance to the inn. Looking around they felt they saw protentional. However, they began thinking about the shadow they saw. Wondering how they would work around the sound. Larry and Bob began discussing fixing up the inn and opening it again. Idea after idea popped into their head, but then out of nowhere, the shadow appeared. Broad daylight surrounding them and each man was standing with their mouth wide open. Surprised that the shadow appeared during the day, they grew concerned. How could this happen? Where did it come from? Why is it still lingering here? Larry and Bob then decided before they moved forward that they would investigate more about the Dragonfly Inn.

Before moving forward in their decisions to rebuild this historic facility they went on a paper chase. Looking for all types of evidence as to what caused the fire, why it was never repaired and open again, etc. Come to find out the owner had passed before finishing the project. The fire was electrical and the damage was minimum, but before it could be fixed and opened again the owner died of unknown complications. As they looked through the information they saw a picture of someone wearing a green jacket and black pants, looking just the shadow. The men put two and two together and realized the owner had passed in the inn and was the shadow following them around. Larry and Bob became intrigued and wanted to know more. They research and decided they would move forward. They would accomplish what the owner set out to do.

A few months had passed and Larry and Bob were checking over the inn. Preparing for opening day. With smiles across their face, they said in unison, "Welcome to the Dragonfly Inn, we are open for business." Excited to begin this adventure together they set off to do their daily duties. With the shadow still lingering around, a smile crossed its face. Proud of what Larry and Bob had accomplished. The Dragonfly Inn has opened once again and the town was excited. The guest couldn't wait to stay. Even though the shadow never left, it stayed in the shadows and watched his former inn become successful once again.
