'Marriage Story' Review—Depressingly Realistic
This movie hits Netflix in less than two weeks, but I saw that it was playing in the Paris Theater here in New York City, an old single-screen theater that closed but reopened just for this film.

The Last Black Man in San Francisco is a wonderfully quirky drama with fascinating characters and a story that meanders in a way that is incredibly charming in its own way. The story goes that Jimmie Fails, played by Jimmie Fails, is obsessed with his childhood home in a now gentrified part of San Francisco. Though Jimmie was only in the home when he was very young, he recalls vivid memories of living there and the comfort he found there.

Shain ThomasPublished 5 years ago in HumansMovie Review: 'One Last Night' Is a Clever Little Romance
Forgive me while I root for the underdog. One Last Night is certainly an underdog of a movie. This low budget movie has four principal cast members, maybe two locations and a budget that could not have been more than a shoestring. What it does have however, is a clever and likable group of actors to pass a very short running time with.

Another Nicholas Sparks movie has been made, and I once again came to be a victim to watch another romantic movie where somebody dies. Now, here's the thing about me when watching movies like The Notebook and A Walk to Remember. I do not cry when a person dies. I know it makes it sound like I am dead inside, or like something is the matter with me. For me, what gets the tears going is when the couple has their first terrible fight, or when the boy or man does something so romantic that it is unrealistic. The scene in The Notebook that made me cry was when Noah was yelling at Allie "What do you want?" by the car, because it is obvious that she wants him, but she is about to be married, yet she cheated on Lon. They have this big fight and she drives off. I cried when Allie and Noah are already old and Allie suddenly can't remember why she is holding onto Noah. That is what really is tragic; being with someone for many years and then forgetting who that person is. For A Walk to Remember it was incredibly thoughtful for Landon to make her a giant telescope, and he set it up on her balcony, or when they got married even though they were both young.
'Hampstead' - Review (Netflix)
I have lived in London, the United Kingdom, all of my life. Born and bred here, you would think that I would know life here quite well. Growing up and around lower-middle-class people and having moved towards middle-class in adulthood, with a glimpse of the upper-middle-classes, I feel that I have a pretty good knowledge of the lives of Londoners, regardless of their social status.

Movie Review: 'One Bedroom' Is a Bittersweet Slice of Life
One Bedroom opens in a jarring but effective fashion. This movie about a breakup between a couple after five years of living together in a small corner of an ever more gentrified part of Brooklyn, New York, opens with a slam poem about gentrification. The movie isn't about the strange and often unwelcome changes in New York City neighborhoods, but the raw energy and forcefulness of the poem, delivered by actress and model DeAriesha Mack directly to the camera, sets a tone of forceful dialogue that will be the hallmark of One Bedroom.
Sean PatrickPublished 5 years ago in Humans'The Laws of Thermodynamics' - Review (Netflix)
It is a truism that, generally, a person likes to believe themselves to be right. That is not to say that their every utterance is correct or that they are never wrong. No, it more relates to what they believe, what their guiding principals are. One tends to embrace beliefs that make them feel safe and that reinforce their view of the world.

The Top Binge-Worthy Wedding Movies
If you’re as much of a rom-com fan as I am, you probably love a movie with a good fairytale wedding ending. From the cheesily perfect love story to the to-die-for white dresses, I truly can’t get enough. Maybe it’s the source of hope it gives me and my sad dating life or maybe it’s the witty romance that never fails to brighten my mood, whatever it is—I am most definitely hooked.
