friendship
C.S Lewis got it right: friendship is born when one person says to another: "What! You too? I thought I was the only one!"
DREAM TO REALITY
DREAM TO REALITY My best friend name is Millianee and she is one of the strongest people I know. Millianee is a single mother of 2 a 13-year-old son and a 10-year-old daughter. Millianne is living in the rough part of town in the projects, working, and putting herself through school for a better life for her kids. Millianee is working a full-time job and a part-time job to try to keep a roof over their heads, food on the table, and give her kids what they need. I for one commend her and don’t know how she does it, but to see her keep a smile on her face and never complain about it amazes me so much. Millianee will not even allow the kids to go outside without her with all the drugs, killings, and fighting that she sees everyday because she does not want to expose the kids to it and to protect them from all the negativity. Millianee is a great mother and she deserves to be happy and not have to struggle in life.

One Day Sarah
I met Sarah when she came into the Eat-Drink just after the lunch hour rush. A blond wearing sweatshirt and jeans isn’t anything special, though she was carrying a shiny vinyl purse. It was tube shaped and a bright teal green. She asked me to bring her whatever I thought was the best lunch we had to offer. When I brought her a grilled chicken salad, she took out a small black notebook to cross something out.

Matthew Crane
Matthew’s father lived two lives. The writer he wanted to be and the writer he was. The money came from Matthew’s mother. That, combined with being born a war too late, meant his father took it out on everyone important to him. Once Matthew figured out he was a better writer than his father it all came crashing down. For both of them. It could have gone either way but that’s how it went.

Love Letters from Heather
To my friend, Zoe, It was just a few short years ago when I accompanied my friend Natalie Harris to Orillia High School, where she was sharing her story with a couple of classes. In some ways, it feels like yesterday, but in terms of life changes, pandemics, and the journey of life, it feels like eons ago.

A Common Sense
I never liked doctors. Don’t trust ‘em. No one wants to go to school for that many years and still has enough sense to cut me open. But some crack told me I needed a new heart. I didn’t care much when he said I’d need a hospital stay, but then Sylvia started cryin’, so I checked myself in. That’s how it usually went. She was always lookin’ out for me, and I never wanted to listen.

THE MONKEY TATTOO
This red-headed Private Investigator was always destined to solve a mystery even reading the Hardy Boys books under my covers when I was 11 and 12. Solving any kind of mystery was my thing. I started with a Missing Children's organization and after funding ran out, took my test and became a Private Investigator.

Make Me Proud
My eyes lit up the moment she walked in on that cold Autumn’s day. Her mother just steps behind. I could feel her excitement as she side shuffled to my desk in her oversized boots; fur tassels bouncing in a rhythm leading one to believe magic lived within her.
