How to Reignite Desire in a Long-Term Relationship
I'm going to start this off by pointing out something that should be obvious, but often escapes a person's mind. That obvious thing is that no couple is exactly like another and there is no one solution fits all way to keep the passion or the romance alive in a long-term relationship.

The Echoes
Grief is such a weird thing. It's the empty halls where you once heard their footsteps. The laugh when a joke is told that is missing. It’s the birthday cards full of confetti that you no longer get. It’s all the firsts: the first Christmas they’re gone, the holidays, the birthdays, anniversaries, the ordinary days. It's the echoes that last. It's the rainbow after the rain, the birds singing in the morning, the baby that giggles, and the quiet moments that remind you of their absence. Some days, everything reminds you, and other days, it's just a bittersweet memory.

I Remember It All
We met when I was only 15 A couple of girls in the back of an '89 Bronco seat I was holding his hand but it was you I found Makin silly videos, turnin the speakers up loud We spent every October lookin for a scare blacked out eyeliner and bright colored hair We spent more time together than I ever did with him We swore we were queens and our light would never dim (Chorus) And I remember it all. I remember everything. How a perfect friendship faded into nothing... Ridin in the Bronco just to feel the bass hit We were gonna be forever We were gonna make it Now I'm lookin at the photos of who we used to be Runnin through Yosemite, wild and free Yeah, I remember it all... We grew up fast in the cover of the trees Summers at the lake, Winters in Yosemite sittin in the theatre, Twilight on the screen Blastin Katy Perry, livin in a teenage dream We shared our first drinks. We drew on the walls. We got our first ink. We stood through it all. But lines started blurring and the house started shakin I left Yosemite and our bond started breakin Suddenly, I'm the villain for walkin away from a boy who lied and cheated on me day after day (Chorus) Years flew by and the dust finally settled down We're both married to different people in different towns We barely talk. Worlds apart. Livin separate lives. But the funny thing about how time survives... We both had little girls first holding our hands growing up in a world we could've never planned And I wonder if they'll ever find a bond like ours before the storm came and left us with these scars. 💚🩷 Myspace Youtube Emo clothes and winger liner weirdo selfies photo shoots night clubs trips to Santa Cruz Boomers and the mall SCREAMING Brokencyde hookah lounges haunted houses tongue rings Ouija boards all the firsts... with you. 💚🩷 (Chorus) Now I'm just watching through a rear view mirror It's foggy for you, but for me, it's still so clear Our families are growing, we're livin different lives but a piece of those teenagers always survives Now I'm the bad guy... but I was your best friend I remember it all. Even the end.

Silence That Screams
Being alone. I’m alone a lot of the day or night. My husband works long hours and is on call every day, so his schedule varies a great deal. Oh, it isn’t so bad on nights when he works while I sleep, but the rest of the time, the quiet is deafening.

A Small Can in the Middle of Rainy Season
Rain in Japan has its own way of reminding me I'm not a local. Not because of how hard it falls, but because of how ready everyone else already is before the first drop lands. Umbrellas folded neatly in bags, jackets layered against the wet, even their shoes seem to already "know" how to repel water. Me? I was still wearing sneakers that soaked up rain as fast as a sponge soaks up spilled coffee.

Lessons That Continue to Be So Important to Me
Authors Note: Many of the following sayings I don't know who originally said them, but they were all helpful to me in my life! My son was born on July 21, 1978. One month later he stopped breathing. He was diagnosed with sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). His father and I were struggling in our marriage. We went to a marriage counselor who told us she couldn't help us and she gave us meeting lists and a chemical dependency assessors name and information. She said to work with us would be like pounding our heads against the wall and we wouldn't get anywhere. I started meetings that week. Our son turned 48 this week. In one month, I will have been in recovery for 48 years. My husband went into treatment soon after. During our marriage he went to treatment five times. We divorced; he remarried and had another child. He died from the illness at age 46. Some of the things I learned are below. And like it says above, I am still learning.
