-- Reading "Robinson Crusoe" with a feeling

  Excerpts.

① Without being there, it is impossible to describe or comprehend the scene of our fear and terror at that time. We do not know where we were, nor do we know where the storm blew to: is it an island or a continent, a place populated by people, or a barren area with no one in sight? The wind was weaker than before, but it was still fierce. We knew that our boat would not last for a few minutes and could be smashed to pieces at any time unless by some miracle the wind would suddenly cease. (The harshness of the environment)

②I often sat down to eat with gratitude and admiration for God's goodness, for He had given me rich food in the wilderness. I have learned to pay attention to the light side of my situation and less to the dark side of his; to think more of what I enjoy and less of what I lack. This attitude sometimes gives me a heartfelt comfort that I can hardly express in words ......(an optimistic mindset)

Turning over the ink-scented volume, quietly reading and thinking carefully, seems to have crossed three hundred years of sunshine, sunshine with you. ("Robinson Crusoe" was written in 1719.)

   --The inscription

In his childhood, he developed a heart for exploration. Since then, this small seedling has taken deep roots in his heart. After being repeatedly discouraged by his father, he resolutely went to pursue his dream of sailing adventure. While we applauded his courage, we also felt helpless for his ignorance. He did not know the danger of the path he took, nor the horror of it: he made himself bruised and battered, but he did not retreat. It reminds me of what the sage Confucius said, "Do it knowing that you cannot do it".

If I were him, when the ship was wrecked in a storm, I would not bow to fate and continue to sail like him. No, if I could choose, I would not accept that life full of difficulties and setbacks, because I do not have the confidence.

I had to admit my weakness and incompetence. From the time we were born to the time we put on our school bags, our parents and schools paved the way for us to grow up. I was content to walk on this smooth road year after year without setbacks or storms, and I was complaining about this and that all day long. I did not even chew the bitterness of life, I was happy. However, in my happiness, I didn't even realize that it was a great joy to be fed and clothed, to go to school with my backpack, and to receive the love of my family and the care of society every day.

And what about him? He is constantly fighting with wild animals, constantly improving his life, keeping a diary, and counting his days on a desert island ......

Compared to him, how small are the difficulties we encounter? How can just one setback in learning be enough to make us give up the pursuit of our ideals?

"Persistence" from us do not know how many times, it is persistence that let him solve all the difficulties: when he came to the island, no food, no anything, but he did not give up, insisted on the deserted island to seek a ray of hope.

Make yourself at peace with everything. Like him, tell yourself that everything is just beginning so that we can see everything better and solve our difficulties better. In the face of difficulties, he was also once confused, once afraid, once complained, and even despaired...... his optimism lets him rekindle the hope of life, optimism can make us never give up, the spirit of hard work on learning, and more enthusiasm for life!

We also need perseverance. We often can not insist on completing our dreams, because we do not have the perseverance, we are afraid of difficulties, and do not know how to face the difficulties, to him is to stay away. We are afraid of failure. Perseverance is the motivation that brings all people to win the fruit of victory. If you don't even have the perseverance to pursue your ideal, how can you expect to achieve your ideal and reach the end of your dream like others?

Even if I fall a hundred times, I have to get up a hundred and one times. I like this quote from Aunt Zhang Haidi because it shows us the way to success - if we fail, what can we do? If we want to be like Robinson, with tenacity, when we stand up again, the sunshine of success will be one step closer to us. Instead of listening to fate, we should use our own hands to open up a road to success for ourselves! Who says you can't create miracles? If you persist, if you are confident, if you are tenacious, then you will create a miracle of your own!

Life is a painting, some people paint the vibrancy of spring; the green shade of summer; the harvest of autumn; the hope of winter. And some people paint the sadness of spring; the anxiety of summer; the desolation of autumn; the loneliness of winter. How colorful life is depends on your attitude towards life.

How can you see the rainbow without going through trials and tribulations? You can't back down when you encounter difficulties, or you'll lose yourself before you even go to battle. Have an unyielding spirit and never bow down in front of difficulties!

Even though there are millions of difficulties in life, there are also many wonderful and happiness coexist, we only have to dig more and experience those wonderful and happy, and we will get more happiness.

Let's confidently say to ourselves, I can do it, everything is just a new starting point! --Afterword
