Nollywood actor Chinedu Ikedieze, popularly known by many as Aki, revealed in a recent interview how he reacted to the death of late actress Ada Ameh, who passed away one year ago.

Speaking in a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo on the podcast "With Chude", actor Chinedu opened up about his family and personal life, as well as how he felt after hearing the devastating news that Ada Ameh has passed.

According to the seasoned actor, Ada Ameh was like a mother to him, and she even takes the character of his mother, "Emu Akpor," in " The Johnson" off the movie screen, which makes people refer to him as her son behind the scenes.

Therefore, losing Ada was like losing a part of him, and the sad news was the last piece of information he opted to hear when it broke out.

He went on to reveal that the devastating news was the biggest shock of all the characters in "The Johnson" TV series.

An excerpt from the interview reads:

CHUDE: "You know, yeah, you know I interviewed Ada before she passed and that was one of my... you know people ask me which episode and this was before she passed, I'm like, it was Ada. It was a raw open-hearted deep conversation."

CHINEDU: "Yes! Yes! I know Ada."

CHUDE: So for you, I only met her once but for you, you worked with her for years. What was it like when you heard that she had passed?

CHINEDU: *sighs* Chude it was very hard. You know she...Ada was like a mother, you know!

CHUDE: Literally

CHINEDU: She took that character off the screen. As in, even outside production. I have met her severally outside, you know, that people will say 'see your pikin'. You know that kind of a thing. So it was like losing a part of me. It was really... n fact, that was the least story or information or news I opted to hear. That's the biggest shock of our lives. That's all of us.. The Johnsons. It broke us...forever.

CHUDE: Charles said when he heard the news, you people actually considered, 'do we even suspend this production?

CHINEDU: Yes! Yes!

CHUDE: Seriously, you did?

CHINEDU: Well I thank God that at the end of the day? We were able to calm ourselves down, then thought.about the way forward. You know, losing Ada on The Johnsons, we didn't even believe that the show would still go on. Because if you mention The Johnsons, you must mention 'Emuakpor It's difficult to take away Ada, that is the character Emu from The Johnsons. But I don't know how it happened.

It could be recalled that Nollywood "sweet heart" Ada Ameh died after collapsing in Warri on July 17, 2022, at the age of 48. Prior to her death, she suffered from mental health issues, which she revealed in an interview weeks before she died.

Ada was the star of films like “Blood Money”, “One Good Turn”, and “Phone Swap,” among others, which made her the people's favorite because of her ability to interpret roles with ease.

She grew up in the Nigerian Navy Barracks, Apapa, in Lagos, as her father, now deceased, was a Navy Officer.

Born into a family of ten, of whom many are now deceased, Ada spent most of her teenage and adult life in the barracks before she became a teenage mother at 14 and was forced to quit school.

According to the information, she was impregnated by a Naval officer living in the barracks where she grew up.

Despite the setback, which resulted in her father sending her out of the house and later accepting her back, Ada maintained that it was a blessing.

Without a doubt, she was one of the most beloved Nigerian actresses to have ever graced the movie industry and left fans with unforgettable memories.

May her soul continue to rest in peace. Amen.
