PML-Q accuses government of pressuring legislators to vote against the prime minister.

The government is threatening PML-Q senior leader Tariq Bashir Cheema's parliamentarians from voting against Prime Minister Imran Khan, but it's too late now, according to Geo News.

PML-Q senior politician Tariq Bashir Cheema said Pervaiz Elahi "spoke his heart out" on Tuesday, alluding to the hard-hitting interview in which the PML-Q leader harshly criticised the PTI administration on a private TV station.

Pervaiz Elahi, the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly and a PML-Q politician, declared on Tuesday that the PTI's allies are "100% inclined" to the opposition.

"It is Khan sahab's responsibility to correct the imbalance. However, I feel the time has gone for sending delegations [to ensure support]. This might have been averted if he had done it earlier "At an interview with Hum News, the speaker, whose party is an ally of the PTI in the Centre and Punjab, remarked.

"Commending Prime Minister Imran Khan is Pervaiz Elahi's mannerism, not a U-turn," the senior PML-Q lawmaker stated on Geo News' Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Saath.

"We are standing with other government partners and will decide collectively," the federal minister stated, adding that they [allied parties] were extremely close to making a decision on the no-trust vote against Prime Minister.

"If we have to tilt towards [the] opposition on the no-trust measure, we will explain our choice very clearly and correctly," Tariq Bashir Cheema said, dismissing concerns that he might leave the administration.

"If we [allies] vote for the opposition in the no-trust resolution, we want to be each other's defence line," he continued. "However, if we stay with PTI, the government should talk to us."

Tariq Basheer Cheema also chastised the PTI for mismanaging Punjab and its governance structure, saying that "today no one is accountable for Punjab's current position."

"Now, more than three PTI groups have emerged in Punjab," he continued, "yet they [ruling party officials] constantly sound like intellectuals on Punjab issues."

The PML-Q representative said, "The Prime Minister can still give over Punjab's Chief Minister position to Pervaiz Elahi, but if he [the PM] does not do so, Punjab's lawmakers will decide."

"If the administration is behaving like a 'ostrich head in the sand,' then it is their issue," Tariq Cheema said, adding that the government was still threatening its own MNAs because it didn't know the situation.

"I think it's too late to prohibit MNAs from voting against the PM," he said in response to a question on whether the government can prevent lawmakers from voting against the Prime Minister.

Pervaiz Elahi of the PML-Q said that PTI allies are '100% inclined' towards the opposition ahead of the no-trust resolution.

Following the submission of a no-confidence resolution against Prime Minister Imran Khan, Punjab Assembly Speaker and PML-Q leader Pervaiz Elahi stated that all PTI allies are "100% inclined" to the opposition.

Just weeks before a session to vote on Prime Minister Imran Khan's no-confidence motion is called, the speaker described the coalition of the three major Opposition parties — JUI-F, PML-N, and PPP — as long-lasting and solid.

'Safe custody' of ten to twelve government lawmakers: Elahi Pervaiz Pervaiz Pervaiz Pervaiz Pervai

Pervaiz Elahi, the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, claims that the Opposition has "safe custody" of 10-12 government legislators.

"The 10-12 government lawmakers reached me as well," the PML-Q leader remarked in an interview with Dunya News.

"We've found them and placed them in the safe hands of the opposition. They are of more significance to the government. Those they had hoped to rely on for assistance have suddenly declared themselves neutral. This is something that no friendly country or institution will touch "He stated his case.
