But according to Nigerian comedian, Okey Bakassi, there is one good thing that has come from this and he's speaking about it during his new interview with Arise News. Here's what Okey Bakassi had to say.

Okey Bakassi during interview

Speaking about one good thing that has come from the Mohbad saga, Okey Bakassi said:

OKEY BAKASSI: When you talk about what is happening with Mohbad, the music industry, the rot being exposed - first of all, there is no youth-based industry that will not be full of drama like this. Young people bring a lot of energy and if the entertainment industry can't soak up that whole energy, it has to go somewhere else. So it has to be cults, vices, and all that. And then somewhere in the history of the entertainment industry if you go back to the United States where most of the world models after, they had their gang problem that consumed Biggie and 2pac in the early stages. Those two greats had to die for everybody to realize that omo, this thing is dangerous.

So maybe it's taking the Mohbad incident for the Nigerian music industry to look at itself again and say look, we don't want to create another 2Pac/Biggie scenario in Nigeria, maybe we need to look into this thing. Because when you have business that is unregulated, there's no entry requirement, there's no exit requirement. It's if you can do it, just come. And unconsciously, right in front of us, we have glamorized the use of substance.

Right in front of us, we have used the music industry as a tool to advertise everything that is evil. You watch a musical video for example, you're sure going to see weed, you're sure going to see someone holding a red cup and you don't know what's in it. You're going to see one young man surrounded by so many half-clad girls, and we all think it's fine, it's cool. And we're telling the young people this is the new cool. It's all in front of us and we're not doing anything, and then when things like this happen, we look like we're surprised.

Mohbad

Okey Bakassi says that one good thing that has come from this saga is all of us now looking at the music industry for what it is, and the music industry also opening its eyes to the vices it pushes, and its practices.
