Music is said to be a melody or soothing sounds produced to bring out emotions which are felt by artist that are encoded through color, shadow and harmony to be decoded and experienced by us the observer and listeners. This music is said to brings sparks of beauty, a thrill which are connected to feelings of sadness, tragedy, longing, hope etc.

Music has a universal appeal that is often attributed to its ability to make us feel a certain way and to change how we are currently feeling, music is said to be the language of emotions this has grown over the past two decades, how emotions are conveyed through music, how music triggers emotions and how it serves as a therapeutic tool. Music said to make us feel emotions is called “FRISSON” or better still aesthetic chills or psychogenic shivers which is said to be responding to stimuli otherwise called “SPARK”.
As you all know there are different types of music that brings emotion which are related to our mood but today we are only going to focus on the vast and common one which are SAD SONGS. This song talks about a state of consciousness in which a person is awake enough to be aware that they are dreaming. It talks about sleep paralysis and a psychological phenomenon when the brain is active and awake but you can’t move a limb, can’t talk but u are still breathing.

This song tells a story of unrequited love, the lover is described as selfish, cheater and a fraud, how he was hurt and how he loves her that’s he is willing to do anything for her. This song made me feel a type of emotion I haven’t felt in a long time, he helped pushed through my heartbreaks and help lift me up, it’s still one of my favorite.
o SAM SMITH: STAY WITH ME
This song describes how the singer was lonely and met a stranger in a one-night stand and then the next day the stranger leaves his house and he was left alone, lonely, he doesn’t like him but felt a connection, and a dark space were filled.
o CHRISTINA PERRI: ARMS
Arms is about the fight between your heart and mind, your heart want to be loved but your head is always giving you a reason to restrain and avoid heartbreaks and how you aren’t worth any love, its talks about the struggle you when through but later falls into the people’s arms, then feeling loved.

This song talks about having a friendship, you been close to the person and at some stage time passes and you are hearing and seeing things in their life that continues without you, through family, friends or more often through social media, you wanting to know how the person is faring a part of you that dies a bit hearing they may have moved on fully even after having little hopes that the person might comeback.

Too sad to cry is about not having enough strength to grieve due to not being able to comprehend why you are feeling down. It explains how you go through a lot, the pains hurts a lot but you can’t let the tears fall down, not because you will fell weak but because it hurts a lot .
o DEAN LEWIS: HOW DO I SAY GOODBYE
This song describes how the singer father was diagnosed with cancer, he was scared to lose his best friend and his role model. He was heartbroken this song is so heartbroken the sadness felt in this song is touching and painful.

Breathe me talks about the singer when she was addicted to alcohol and drugs and her struggle to get out of it. She was feeling anxious, broken, depressed and worried for her wellbeing. This song is so heartbroken and can make you shed tears because of how you can relate to it.

This song talks about how the singer lost his aunt, she committed suicide and it shattered the mom to lose her blood, this explains how the victim went through a lot and how they thought if they could be there she will still be alive, it hurts and it’s a painful story losing a love one.

This song describes what the singer went through during his hard times, he explores the isolating and emotional heavy side of fame and success, the lyrics delve into the personal experiences and struggles of his life. he sheds light on the disconnection and loneliness that can come with world recognition.
