Great Tools are key!
In March 2020 just before the Covid pandemic changed the world as we know it I bought myself a brand new sewing machine and a new pair of Fiskars classic scissors -the long ones that cut fabric like a dream. It was an expensive purchase but one I thought would provide me a sorely needed creative outlet. I learned how to sew as a teen in home economics and from my grandmother who was a seamstress and had worked in a curtain factory to support her immigrant family.

The Worst Christmas Story volume 1
(Warning, Its kind of offensive) In the 90s , office Christmas parties were tamer than previous decades. Demographics kicked in and boomers had to go home early to pay babysitters and retain marriages. Add to that, all the previously employee shitshows that ended up embarrassing major companies and their law firms, the bacchanalian corporate soirees were now a relic. A taxi drivers loss. Oh, and a recession was in full swing. Those that wanted the older version took their nostalgia to "VIP" rooms.

It’s an age that inspires you to think about what you’ll leave behind, and this thought was really brought home when my son told me I soon would be a grandmother! I decided it was time to create a family heirloom.

Gemini: A Season of Transformation
Gemini, your season is upon us. A mutable air sign, you have a reputation for being vivacious, outgoing, and busy, but can also get a bad rap for being flighty, impulsive, and sarcastic. Represented in the zodiac by the twins, duality is in your nature and your friends and acquaintances often describe you as multifaceted, a person of many interests and talents.

Fibers
Create your happiness contest…It is very difficult to choose one image to show how much I love working with my hands. My mother started teaching me to sew at a young age. My first job was being her pattern girl; I was in charge of cutting the pattern out. I always used an orange handled pair of Fiskars and at that young age, I did not understand about using them just on fabric. Fast forward 40+ years and everyone in my household knows not to use those same orange handled pair of Fiskars. I inherited those scissors when my mother passed twenty-eight years ago. She taught me how to pour love into everything I create.
