Kourtney Kardashian revealed that she contracted COVID-19 from her husband, Travis Barker, right before her baby shower, as shared on the season 5 premiere episode of The Kardashians.

After returning from touring Europe with Blink-182, Travis, 48, took a COVID test that initially came back negative. Kourtney, 45, said, “we make out for six hours.” However, she soon noticed that Travis “is hot. Like, his head feels very warm.”

“Not a making-out type of warm. Like really warm,” Kourtney explained, adding that Travis took a second COVID test, which came back positive. He later shared a photo of his positive test on Instagram.

Following the positive test, Kourtney isolated in the guest room but acknowledged, “that first six hours of just making out, I got COVID.”

In the episode, Kourtney FaceTimed her mother, Kris Jenner, who was preparing a vintage Disneyland-themed baby shower for Kourtney, who welcomed her son, Rocky Thirteen, in November.

“I want to cry,” Kris, 68, told party planner Mindy Weiss. “You’ve done such a beautiful job. And it’s just hitting me. I’m like, ‘Are you f—ing kidding?’” Kris, who had spent time with Kourtney, decided to take a COVID test and maintain distance from others.

“Travis has COVID. I’m shaking. I just want Kourtney to be okay. She’s a high-risk pregnancy,” Kris said, expressing her concern. “I don't know why I’m emotional. I just want her to be okay. I’m a little worried.”

According to the Mayo Clinic, pregnancy increases the risk of severe COVID-19, and the risk remains higher for at least a month after giving birth.

Despite the circumstances, Kourtney and Travis visited the shower preparations before guests arrived. They decided to stay in a socially distanced area set up away from the guests.

“You’re almost like a Disney character,” Travis told Kourtney. “You just sit here and wave.”

“I feel like we’re the king and queen…of COVID,” Kourtney joked in her confessional. Both she and Travis wore masks at times during the event.

This COVID diagnosis followed another health scare for Kourtney, who shares three children — Reign, 9, Penelope, 11, and Mason, 15 — with ex Scott Disick.

On September 6, Kourtney and Travis revealed that she had undergone emergency fetal surgery.

“I flew home for a life-threatening emergency surgery for our baby that I’m so grateful went well,” Travis posted on X (formerly Twitter).

Kourtney shared on Instagram, “I am eternally grateful to my husband who rushed to my side from tour to be with me in the hospital and take care of me afterwards, my rock. And to my mom, thank you for holding my hand through this.”

She proceeded, "As somebody who has had three truly simple pregnancies previously, I wasn't ready for the apprehension about racing into critical fetal medical procedure. I don't think anybody who hasn't experienced a comparative circumstance can start to figure out that sensation of dread. I have an entirely different comprehension and regard for the moms who have needed to battle for their children while pregnant."

She concluded, “Praise be to God. Walking out of the hospital with my baby boy in my tummy and safe was the truest blessing. 🙏🏼🤍.”

while on the highest point above the horizon,

This is another quality of Jibra'il (علیہ السلام) in that he is no weakling, but strong, mighty in power and firm, so that it may not be suspected that the devil may intercept the angel carrying the Divine revelation and snatch it away from him. Jibra'il (علیہ السلام) is so mighty in power and strength that the devil dare not come anywhere near him.

The word اِسْتَوَىٰ istawa means to be or become straight or to level. The verse means that when he saw Jibra'il (علیہ السلام) the first time, the latter was descending from the heaven. Having descended, he sat or settled straight on the highest part of the horizon.

Ufuq [ horizon ] is qualified by a'la [ the highest part or uppermost ] and it signifies that Jibra'il (علیہ السلام) was shown on the uppermost horizon, [ so that he could be seen clearly ] because the lower part of the horizon which seems to be adjacent to the earth is normally hidden from the sight [ as a result he would not have been visible to the Holy Prophet ﷺ .
