The Journey Within

By Kaylon ForsythPublished 3 months ago 3 min read

I walked through most of my life feeling like I didn't quite belong. I was the one who tagged along with my older brother as he would always be going on the coolest adventures with his friends, so his friends became like older brothers to me, and they all watched out for me. As I have grown older, I began to notice that the feeling that I felt as a child was not something that was simply a childlike phase, due in large part to my introverted nature, but something deeper that I could never fully explain, or truly put into words.

When I became truly invested in undertaking my personal journey, which as it began, my motivation revolved entirely around the prospect of healing from the traumas of different varieties that I had experienced in the past, it was a journey towards becoming whole. After committing 4 years to shadow work, picking apart my own psyche and the triggers that were behind different behavioral patterns, and then looking deeper to find what the initial cause of such triggers were, it left little room for much else due to the intensive self critiquing and conscientious observations I would be making regarding my own behavioral patterns that I had up until that point been conditioned with, whether through experience or learned behaviors.

When I turned 40 years old, 4 years into my shadow work, I hit a point where the culmination of the work I had been doing internally finally opened up a vista within my frame of perception, and reference where I could see myself in the world in a capacity where I truly felt I belonged, because I have finally found that all elusive sense of purpose that had seemed to escape me in my younger years.

I had reached the point of actualization, at least in the capacity I felt finally like I could be myself, no matter who I was around, and the sense of freedom that seemingly small act brought was enough to expand my perceptions in a ways that allowed me to see that I did not have to live my life in any specific way, as far as following the standard model of professional growth through societal expectation that we have been so deeply conditioned to follow.

I find that in my personal experience, that which brings me the greatest degree of fulfillment in my life, is helping others through my own unique talents which have blossomed greatly over the last 6 years, in relation to helping people to heal in the way I find myself being doing.

I find that the hallmark of success in a life, is not about how much a person gains throughout that life, but in how many lives are positively impacted along the way.

Many wealthy people reach the end of their life, only to realize once it's too late, that life would have been better spent in building strong bonds, and having good interpersonal relationships that are conducive for mutual growth, opposed to the seeking of riches. When it comes right down to it the people are where the true value lies, not in that which people fill their spaces with in relation to material possessions.

Any place to may go, is only as good as the people that are in that place, and when the people are not just content, but motivated to continue seeking self betterment within an environment that is amplified by multiple people seeking that same common goal, not just self improvement, but the success of all the people within that space, it creates an atmosphere of inspiration.

I am very grateful for the people that I have met along my path, and for the profoundly positive impact they have had on me, for the place I find myself having experienced the most growth, is where the people that I find myself surrounded by are located.

Surround yourself with the people that you want to be like, or be the person that other people have respect, admiration and unconditional trust in.

When we live as the change we wish to see in this world, by embodying those traits, we are truly capable of bringing peace and coherence to those with which we allow into our lives.

Brightest Blessings.
